We're pullin for you Dave!!!!!!!

Go Dave Go!!!

Hitting my "first" meeting tonight, no point in waiting. I always liked the Monday meeting as it keeps me honest over the weekend (my toughest food times). I'll post my start number tonight, no matter how embarrassing it is.

Dave- You've inspired me to start losing a little myself. Years of a couple beers a day is definitely catching up a bit. There's a Gold's Gym about 1/2 mile from my house so Im going to join this week. I was running a lot up until a year or so ago then my right knee started the ache quite a bit so I stopped. Just need to get back on the horse. I'm 227lbs according to my scale at home. I'd like to get down to 200.

Hey John...just walk to the gym and back a couple of times a week...think of the cash I just saved you

Anyone know any good late afternoon snacks that are filling aside from the typical stuff??

I thought wheat was one of the things to stay away from.

processed wheat yes but whole wheat not so much. So white bread is very bad and whole wheat bread is OK. Same thing with pasta.

I'm at the point of trying to alter my habits to permanently end the diet cycle. That is a little different then trying to rip off some pounds is short order.

Well I guess I picked the right week to start, WW is rolling out their "new" program which is basically a mix of their old "core" and "flex" plans. Same basic ideas though.

Starting weight is exactly the weight I started out last time....fully clothed including shoes....... 396 lbs. Damn. long overdue but really psyched it's underway. :)

Big first step Dave! COngrats!

I'm thinking if I just change a few bad habits I can reduce the extra I've packed on. Being a road salesman you gain some very bad eating habits.

Just found some workouts through OnDemand with Comcast. Did a 20 minute workout and feel like I should die.

That's pretty cool Dave.

Might not be much help to you right now, but I am a couple of pounds from my goal...actually about 6 to go...but that will be followed a new "fitness" routine...not so much for weight loss, but more due to the fact that I need to keep this old body from breaking down on me as I put more miles on it...consider it preventative maintenance ;)

Please note that I did not really "diet", but what I did do was change my diet, and worked on what and when I ate VS following a strict regiment...well, it was strict at first, but now it feels normal.

Hope this helps!
