I just noticed, why did you end up ditching the slider cargo windows?

I'm thinking that the hi roof 61 windows are a different size, but also interested in the answer.

2 Reasons i ditched the sliding windows:

The first being that there are about 4-6 individual rubber and plastic trim pieces that make up the seals and weatherstrip that surround the windows that i would have to source and catalog versus the one large seal for the fixed window (expensive and time consuming to source where i could focus my efforts towards more important aspects of this build).

The second reason being that even if they were brand new they would rattle at highway speeds and that annoys me on long trips. Furthermore, i don't want anyone sitting in the rear most jump seats opening windows when they have a perfectly good 3rd A/c right there.

For reference, the window sizes are the same on the high roof and standard roof trucks.:D

@NookShneer and I can personally attest to the ridiculousness of restoring a set of sliders. We are finally done sourcing all the parts but it has taken months and a good chunk of change.

Great job on the cruiser, looking forward to more updates!

Very nice. Is this the hood ornament you have? Hard to tell.

So it has been almost 11 months since i last posted, and there have been some more fixes and upgrades to the truck. Last we saw, it still had the crappy Chinese copy rays, they just had to go. I went in favor of 34" "Sand Service" tires on the OEM VX wheels which i had painted in the Toyota Pewter Gray color.

The truck was still short an interior, so that had to happen. It had its original VX seats which were in okay shape, they kind of resemble the Recaro semi-bucket seats as the side bolstering really does actually hold you in place. These differ from the Us-spec seats that'd be normally found in a 60, they were also offered here in the base (G-trim) and semi-base (Gx-trim) for this part of the world.

Decided to use more modern colors than the dark brown, made it match better with the rest of the interior theme.

The photos don't do it justice, for some reason the camera makes them look orange and mis-matches the dash color. Rest assured its all matchy matchy.

I wish I didn't look at this build.... Those 2nd and 3rd A/C evaporators will taunt me in my dreams... Time to stare at some wiring schematics.

Nice garage. I find it funny that your 'off road' sand tires would get you about 2 car lengths off road here!
But live and learn. What kind of pressures do you run when the sand gets softer?
