I don't care. I'm stating that since the CLUB itself hasn't followed the proper protocol through the NEA to wheel that land it is not a club event.
As a person who is working to keep LMFT trails open I hope your keeping the numbers down out there to under 10.

LMFT access is open to anyone. Access is free. However, I'm supporting the area. I paid the $25 dues at LMFT for a year of access. I even spent $4 more for their map which is very lacking as to trails and how to get in there and park a trailered rig.
Unfortunately, the "offical" LMFT website doesn't even have a link to get a "Day Pass". That requires a separate online search. They also don't post up who is registered to be there on their "EVENTS" calendar.
There is lots of room for improvement on their part online.
There were only 5 of us this time. I'm pretty sure we were all YT members, even the Heepers. We ran into 3 Jeeps at Timing Chain Rock that were "registered" with LMFT, but they went in there on their own rather than as a club. We also ran into a much larger group from Mass Crawlers going the other downhill way on Lower Waumbus or the Bridge Trail, I can't remermber for sure which. I didn't see anything about Mass Crawlers being there on the LMFT "Event List"
The hardcore trails were more difficult than last year when I was there, wet in spots with mud and little traction. Some rock obstacles were so wet at the bottom that you couldn't even begin to get up. Despite the rumors, the access trails that are in the stock/modified ratings we use in the FG for the easier runs are in the best condition that I have ever seen. I'm not sure why anyone is bitchin' about the 4WD community other than the fact that some users are not contributing $$$ to LMFT.
I believe that the NEA 4WD community did most of the trail cuts that snowmobilers and ATV's don't even go on. However, it now appears that some ATV's are using the hardcore trails and making bypasses on the harder obstacles, basically creating more wear and tear.
I think owners of 4X4's, ATV's and Snowmobiles all need to learn how to get along and respect each others needs without flaming the others. Open access for all is better than no access at all.
I'm getting off the soap box for now. 
Here's my truggy on Timing Chain Rock where we ran into a small group of Jeepers. Plenty of flex up and down in the rear. You can see how far out of the bucket the coil drops on the left rear while stuffing the right one about a foot up into the wheel well.
It flexes even more than Minnie with her SOA setup and 63" rear Chevy springs and drives different than any leaf sprung vehicle I've owned. It is actually a bit too soft for my tastes. It gets a bit hairy off camber because the uphill side of the axle isn't adding any weight to that side of the vehicle until the shock limits out. The rear flexes so much that it will lift a front wheel occasionally. I think I will go with slightly stiffer and shorter rear springs and add some limiting straps before the shocks get blown out.

It stalled because I didn't have my foot on the gas pedal and was concentrating on pressing the "Magic Button" instead of looking where I was going when I came up the first step. 
At least it starts right up again in gear so I don't have to clutch it when it stalls. That's really handy when you stall on an incline.
The obstacle drops sharp to the right when you come over the top. The first buggy almost rolled there as well and the other rigs got quite a bit off camber. I just hit it hard coming over the top to make sure it came back to level quick. I was actually able to get my rig over it quicker and more easily than the other vehicles in our group. A couple folks were attempting it for 5 minutes or more. But, they were in Jeeps and I'm in a Yota

4Runners are great. That is a nice rig you have! the extra 8" of wheelbase between a Jeep and a 4Runner makes a huge difference on the steep climbs. The Jeeps I wheel with have gone to 1 tons and 42" tires, but haven't stretched the wheelbase, so they can't make the steep climbs easily. Every time I crawl an obstacle they had to throttle up they shake their heads.
Thanks! I got that same reaction with this rig on Sunday and the same last year with Minnie. I think both my rigs measure out to about 105" WB. Long and low is the way to go.
Gretchen's Openings Weekend 7/20 & 7/21
At the risk of pissing off the management on this forum, I have recently learned that Field & Forest, a/k/a Gretchens, has an NEA event this coming weekend. That event isn't filled to the new owner's satisfaction and there are now open slots available.
However, you do have to be a member of an affiliate NEA club to take one of those spots. Although this is not a YT sanctioned event, there are a few of us YT members planning on attending.
I found out this week that I can't go to Moose Mountain due to wedding related conflicts for the son. My wheeling this year has been once so far and I want to go again. I wish I was heading to Rausch, but I can't spare the time. I even could have gone to the FJCruiser Summit in Ouray, CO this coming week with a friend if I wasn't so tied up.
So who wants to get up to or down to Gretchen's (FnF) ?
