Things are a changing quick around here. Wife got laid off 2 weeks ago but she has 2 interviews lined up already. My company is toast and I'm flying to Chicago tomorrow to interview with 2 different wineries then have another phone interview with a third Friday (all New England area jobs) We're both essentially unemployed but not worried much at all thankfully.

We thought about moving South but all the job prospects are in New England for both of us. We'll likely move out of Millis to a place closer to where the wife lands a gig. I'll be working out of the house as usual.

We were hoping for a quiet year. Looks like that's not happening. Having a car allowance with the new job might get my flipper spark lit again.....

manage to punch my self very hard in the face today:hillbilly:
i was using the high lift to break down the beads on my tires to fix some rim leaks. foot slipped when i was letting the jack down with the weight of ricks 80 on the handle, my hand and the high lift handle flung up and got me...

not to self, don't break down tire beads when it is snowing out and you cant see what your doing

ricks son was helping me he thought it was amusing, I did to after I figured out what just happened:lol:

nice!
I did the same thing while changing a trailer tire under Franky on the side of I-81 in Pa in a torential downpour with semis going by at 65 mph at 5 am
knocked my glasses off, over the white line, there I am groping around in the death zone
I returned to the truck cab, Hillary had no idea, blood dripping, soaked, covered in gravel
it was fun
hope you can spell better now Nat:cheers:

Damn Nate, glad you didn't break anything.

Snow finally, cold as heck. Finally feels like December. :)

Went and got our Christmas tree yesterday. It has just started to snow when we got there.

Nice hat! (really)
We will be getting ours this afternoon, it's nice having a tree farm right across the street.
It does look nice out there this morning. We only got about 3" but it's enough to cover everything.

Thanks! The hat was a Christmas present, bought yesterday in fact. :) I had asked my wife for a hat that style, and we were at the Merc in town to take advantage of their going out of business sale and they had the exact thing I wanted so, early present.

If anyone is in the Windsor VT area, the Windsor Vermont Mercantile is going out of business and everything is 60% off. We got a bunch of stuff their yesterday. Some really great folks own it, as well as other businesses in town, this one just opened at a really bad time (recession anyone?) so they are closing it to focus on their other endeavors (Snapdragon Inn, Windsor Station Restaurant).

its going to take much harder hit to the head to get me to spell better then a measly high lift handle hit:D

Everyone ready for the big snow? They are calling for 6-10" up here. I got my garage picked up and the car inside, winter blades and full washer fluid in both.

Supposed to get a new windshield on the 4Runner tomorrow (big crack from a stone).

New boots the other day, snow proof mail bag, hat, gloves, good attitude, yep I'm ready!

Just got into work. Seems everyone in RI forgets how to drive with the first snow during a commute.

On a side note I did see someone in a 79-84 FJ40 in Johnston. It was a dark color. Anyone here?

About 8" but it's still coming down. Almost time to go out and snowblow the driveway so Sara can get the car in when she gets home. The plow finally came by and there's a 2 foot berm at the edge of the road.

about 12" that turned heavy in the afternoon when it warmed up. It was not much fun plowing

78 degrees here in GA yesterday.....just sayin......

Found an excuse to go bombing around town last night in the snow in the 4runner. :D Trying to get used to how it handles in different conditions. Made the Stability control beep at me a few times when I purposely tried to kick the tail out around corner s (safe, open area, I promise) It really reins in any shenanigans. The traction control + full time 4WD seems to get me through anything.

The ABS comes in a bit sooner then I'd like but it's relatively gentle at least. In my last 2 cars the ABS felt like it was shaking the car to pieces. (Honda & Mazda)

Continually impressed by the Cooper Discover ATR's in the slop. Really good adverse weather tire.

With the consistently low temps my MPG has taken a bit of a dump but still manageable.

What a great truck!

You can keep it, I like my seasons (even if this one involves rain instead of snow) There was a few reasons why I didnt want to stay in cali, that would be one.
