You can keep it, I like my seasons (even if this one involves rain instead of snow) There was a few reasons why I didnt want to stay in cali, that would be one.

I agree with you. I lived in Panama for 2 years. It was green all the time and I couldn't wait to see the
brown and grey of winter again.

Did some winter wheeling this past weekend. Just enough snow to create several challenging spots on what were otherwise easy trails. Had to lead a hill climb on untouched snow where I had to spin the tires at just the right RPM for about 5 minutes in order to keep the truck moving ever so slightly up the hill. Had a good time.

HJ went into winter storage this past weekend for $250 to May 1. Seems like an awesome deal. Local farmer with a steel building and insurance. I didnt see it, but he said there was another FJ-40 in the building and it had been there for 10 years.

Well, here it is, the culmination of nearly 2 years worth of work. Human Capital Institute | The Global Association for Strategic Talent Management

We went live at 9pm EST

Wish I could say it was 100% of my vision but corporations (and "hands-on" CEO's) just don't work that way. We have a great team of engineers who make my designs actually WORK. Let's hope the 2000+ members who hit it every day like what they see in the morning.

Fingers crossed.

That's fantastic Dave...congratulations and good luck!

Big stuff!

Businesses seem to really like what we do, frankly, to me, it's all just boring "business" stuff. It's my job to make it look good. :) :) :)

I wish I could show you our old website, it was abysmal. This is a gigantic upgrade for us, and is a real leapfrog over our competition... hopefully.

It's also only the beginning, we have Phase 2 and Phase 3 stuff in the pipeline that will add a lot more interactivity and features for our members.

Nice job Dave-but you should have slipped a cruiser in one of the pictures-only kidding

Thanks for all the response guys, it is appreciated. It's been a stressful few months, and from my end, it's not getting any better any soon, launch or not... but it is very satisfying to finally have it up there.

On another note, it's flippin' COOOOOLLLDD!!! Just 2 degrees at the bus stop this morning. Bundle up boys!

The wine factory is basically closing up shop. Too many distributors defaulting on invoices, MLBPA screwed us on licensing, our winery partner screwed me out of a 14,000 case deal with Whole Foods, etc. Blows.

I need a job.

Anyone got any connections, leads, etc? Looking for sales/ account management gig doing something interesting. Open to any type of company as the wine industry has become a bit stale for me and not sure I'd be motivated to sell other people's wines after selling my own. Seems like the perfect time to switch industries.

Wife is out of work too so the MAACO thing is unrealistic to start now.

Any help or leads would be great.

Hey John-

What are your qualifications/skills/desires? What are you good at?

I'm kind of assuming sales, but am generally guessing. Don't work for Harpoon. They hate their employees, at least their brewers, I've had my taste. Maybe they like sales, I think they're a sales company with a brewing department. I bet they still pay s*** even if they like you, but don't actually know.

I've been looking for a real job for well over a year now. The news sez hiring is up, but I'm taking manual lanbour jobs including concrete work in this weather because nobody is hiring a metals/electronics guy with a 160 IQ and a work ethic in a first class American city.

I hope you have quick luck and don't have to move to the false side of the Mason/Dixon line.

Hail New England!

Very nice. I took a quick look at the code. Looks like you spent a lot of time developing your CSS structure with Drupal as a content management system. I haven't looked at Drupal in a few years but I remember it being a real PITA to work with. You appear to be a master with it. I'm impressed.

Thanks Rufus, the "You" would be our talented team of engineers. WE have a couple of dedicated Drupal guys, a PHP guy, and a CSS guy. I design it, they make it happen, pretty great way to do it, actually. :)

I've been getting more and more into Drupal by necessity as I work to build all the content. It's a pretty amazing CMS, very well documented, and modulus for just about anything you can think of. Thankfully we have the guys who can customize those modules to our whims.

Hypoid- At this point I'm pretty sure I'm only good at flipping Land Cruisers. Anything interesting in sales would be good.

Harpoon is notorious for not being a great company to work for. I did apply to Boston Beer Company though.

I'm picking out places I'd like to work at and contacting them directly. The job websites seem to be almost useless. Applied to Monster, Factory Five Racing, and a few others. Doubt they'll work out but I doubt it.

I've had 2 job offers in the industry this week but they were basically entry level and I'm not ready to step back yet.

Something will work out. It always does.

Odd that my brother in law is 3 hours late for lunch and nobody is allowed to eat till he gets here. Of course I'm the a****** for complaining about it or even mentioning it. Sorry, just had to vent a bit and I haven't eaten all day. Time for some liquid bread and/or distilled potatoes...

Thats they way to handle it. If someone says something about you being drunk just blame it on the empty stomach.

So how was dinner..... lunch + 3 hours = early dinner.

Oh, we had dinner too. Gout is on the way.

He finally arrived yesterday. He was late because he had to drop off $150 worth of dry cleaning and it took him a while to sort through the clothes. If I showed up with that excuse I'd be tortured and killed by my side of the family.

The icing on the gravy was all we had for dinner last night was fondue. I hate fondue. Today will be cruiser time all morning then football all day. Gonna be a great day!

Good luck with you job search John and have a nice Holiday
