I'm just mad I won't be able to get free paint jobs for a while.
Looking forward to a long weekend, taking tomorrow off except for one meeting in the middle of the day. Heading up camping in the Whites with some buds... need to give my brain a break, take a hike, drink too much, and sit around the fire as long as humanly possible.
Is that the correct spelling of dil-hole? The word being of Germanic origin could be spelled with traditional double LL. And is the dash needed? Could it not be dillhole or dilhole?
As I prepare for retirement in December and mys son starts kindergarten, I just became aware of a benefit which is killer. The new post 9-11 GI Bill signed into law last year has a transferability clause allowing the benefit to transfer to my son. Normally, a soldier or sailor would be required to extend his/her enlistment an additional 4 years, but since I already have an approved retirement date, I can transfer the benefit WITHOUT any additional service required.
So this new GI Bill for college
.....is valid until Colin is 26 years old. (he is 5 now)
.....Covers 36 academic months of full tuition up to the in-state fees for the state in which the college is located
.....includes (for NH) approx $1200/month for housing/food
.....includes $1000/year for books/fees etc.
OMG..Not sure what 4 years college will cost in 2023, but now its covered.

So I get back to my desk after lunch and get back to work today and the phone rings. I pick it up and the guy on the other end says “Hi this is Bob in Security”… I pause for a minute while I think why would security be calling me. So I ask him what I can do for him and he says he would like to talk to me and asks me to come down for a minute. I tell him that I will be right down and I hang up the phone.
Now just yesterday there was a rumor going around that some layoffs were coming. I was feeling pretty confident that my job wasn’t on the line until this phone call. So I try to think of what other reasons security could possibly be calling me. A co-worker of mine and I have been playing pranks on each other. Could it really be some fallout from a few harmless pranks? One of our facility guys is the Parking Nazi and jumps all over you if you park on a white line or on the grass which I tend to do to keep my truck from getting dinged.
So I head on down to the security desk and Bob ask me “You drive that Jeep right?” um….. no, I have a truck.. Feeling a little relieved that he is looking for some guy driving a Jeep. I haven’t taken the FJ45 to work in a couple weeks so it went right over my head that’s what he was talking about. Turns out some guy in the building was asking about it and ask the security guy about it. The security guy finally figured out my name and just wanted to ask my permission before he told the guy who I was.
Scare the crap out of me for about 5 minutes until I got down to security.
back from 3 nights camping off the Kancamagus ... I'll be catching up on PM's and emails tonight in case anyone was waiting on something from me.
