Mentally I had checked out already. Our consultant was willing to stop early with our contract but apparently he spent all the money we gave him already. We were going to prorate our agreement. Makes me nervous now that this consultant seems to be hand to mouth. If the contract isn't completed to the letter then I'll likely have to file a lawsuit. Not a great day on many fronts.

Enough boo-hooing from me. I'm just mad I won't be able to get free paint jobs for a while.

The 4Runner lowered my insurance about $200/year, nice bonus.

Puppy housebreaking is REALY going well, no accidents for 2 days straight.

Looking forward to a long weekend, taking tomorrow off except for one meeting in the middle of the day. Heading up camping in the Whites with some buds... need to give my brain a break, take a hike, drink too much, and sit around the fire as long as humanly possible.

That's pretty much my weekend plans too except that I'll be at Kennabago Lake.

: ( Working.

prepping locking axles to go into Jim Bartins 80 with Rick this weekend i think ill drink heavily and "torque to snap" all the bolts in is axle:flipoff2:

Nat,

That's ok, I know where some other axles are. By the way it is Barton, you dil-hole.

Is that the correct spelling of dil-hole? The word being of Germanic origin could be spelled with traditional double LL. And is the dash needed? Could it not be dillhole or dilhole?

As I prepare for retirement in December and my son starts kindergarten, I just became aware of a benefit which is killer. The new post 9-11 GI Bill signed into law last year has a transferability clause allowing the benefit to transfer to my son. Normally, a soldier or sailor would be required to extend his/her enlistment an additional 4 years, but since I already have an approved retirement date, I can transfer the benefit WITHOUT any additional service required.

So this new GI Bill for college
.....is valid until Colin is 26 years old. (he is 5 now)
.....Covers 36 academic months of full tuition up to the in-state fees for the state in which the college is located
.....includes (for NH) approx $1200/month for housing/food
.....includes $1000/year for books/fees etc.

OMG.. :bounce: Not sure what 4 years college will cost in 2023, but now its covered.

Having poorly invested my daughter's fund in antique cruiser crap..............I'll say it too...................wow.

Very good to hear. My daughter in law is going full time on the same benefit, very nice.

Well, I have had some mixed emotions about my 20 years on submarines. Numerous deterrent patrols and extended overseas deployments, major flooding, missing 4 Fall Gatherings etc. I was in South China Sea when Colin was born. But this just....may....make up for some of those hardships. You're right Jim, my first thought was more $$ for Cruisers.

But first, back to job hunting.

So I get back to my desk after lunch and get back to work today and the phone rings. I pick it up and the guy on the other end says “Hi this is Bob in Security”… I pause for a minute while I think why would security be calling me. So I ask him what I can do for him and he says he would like to talk to me and asks me to come down for a minute. I tell him that I will be right down and I hang up the phone.

Now just yesterday there was a rumor going around that some layoffs were coming. I was feeling pretty confident that my job wasn’t on the line until this phone call. So I try to think of what other reasons security could possibly be calling me. A co-worker of mine and I have been playing pranks on each other. Could it really be some fallout from a few harmless pranks? One of our facility guys is the Parking Nazi and jumps all over you if you park on a white line or on the grass which I tend to do to keep my truck from getting dinged.

So I head on down to the security desk and Bob ask me “You drive that Jeep right?” um….. no, I have a truck.. Feeling a little relieved that he is looking for some guy driving a Jeep. I haven’t taken the FJ45 to work in a couple weeks so it went right over my head that’s what he was talking about. Turns out some guy in the building was asking about it and ask the security guy about it. The security guy finally figured out my name and just wanted to ask my permission before he told the guy who I was.

Scare the crap out of me for about 5 minutes until I got down to security.

Dont worry dude, you can always come mow lawns for me!

Which campground?

back from 3 nights camping off the Kancamagus ... I'll be catching up on PM's and emails tonight in case anyone was waiting on something from me.

-Dave

Which end?? I swung by Kinas yesterday for a couple quick beers. The Kancamangus isn't too far away, at least the east end.
