Well said. While it can be tasty stuff, McD's is truly bad for your body and becomes habitual. Read Fast Food Nation and you'll never look at the fast food industry and their products the same.

Processed foods bad. Whole foods good!

We had lunch at Country Life today, a vegan cafe here in keene.
It's one of our favorite places.
Bette took a vegan cooking class a few years ago and while we are not vegitarians (there are 12 free
range chickens and 1/4 cow in the freezer all from local farms) we do like to eat healthy.

Good news today, boss called and said I didn't have to work Saturday!
Shop day now!

Good to hear Dave!
A little work on the 80 this weekend?

Very cool. Three cruisers in the drive now. You are starting to have a collection. Are driving it or having it flat bedded up north?

spent the morning clearing the driveway and digging out the Cruiser. Good exercise. THe 80 Started right up and drove over a snowbank like it wasn't there. :)

The bank is coming to do a full appraisal of my house this week for our refi so we've been cleaning, cleaning cleaning. Cleared out the piles of recycling from the back hallway, pulled a few bags of junk/garbage out of the cellar, and now I need to clear our 3rd bedroom up a bit as it basically is just spare furniture storage right now.

Lots of "real work" to do on the computer tonight and tomorrow, hoping to get ahead a bit for a good week next week. Got paid for some freelance work and slapped it in the savings account as well. :)

Super Bowl party at a friends' house tomorrow. Going to make a few light dishes to bring.

Is the new gig really not working out??

Wow! Good news, yet scary!

Is the new gig really not working out??

It's not "not" working out, but it was only meant as a stop-gap on my way to my own business. In my line of work, having your own shop is really where it's at, and really the only path to a bigger income. Graphic design is a great, creative career, but rarely does it make you a lot of money unless your name (and reputation, and risk) are on the top of the letterhead.

There is no reward without risk though, that's for sure.

I took a 50% paycut when I went out on my own. Desperation and a touch of panic at times really keeps your work ethic sharp!!

50% pay cut, 98% cut in piece of mind security, but more satisfaction than you ever had before.

The first couple nights after I signed my business note I stayed away staring at the ceiling thinking 'how am I going to pay this back?" Now, I just realize that its just money, comes and goes as it wants, most days I am just a bank teller. Then I realized, if I fail completly and the bank comes to get my stuff, its all stuff that I can replace :D

might hafta sell the pumpkin at this point. My mind is changing constantly but at this point it seems like the smart thing to do but not the right thing to do. too many balls in the air and wifey can't drive RHD. Hmmm......

Does that make it wheel better? : )

Or just make it easier to sit on the side of the road when the head gasket blows?!

Tell her to buy her own car!

No shizz!

She has a Volvo SUV and we only take that when we go anywhere as a family. She said I can buy anything I want as long as she can drive it when needed. This means LHD.

80 is too much of a gas hog for me. I don't drive a lot but when I do it's on longer trips.

The BJ70 diesel would be perfect. Good mileage, LHD, 5 speed and still the collectible type that I like.

Issue is that I have the 45 in the garage that I will realistically wheel for one weekend per year. Nearest legal trails are 2 hours away and having a 2 year old limits that anyway. If I sell it I will be disappointed but I can sink some $$$ into a BJ70 as a DD and enjoy 24-7-365. Plus I might have some cash left over for a beater 40 rig.

Pumpkin gets 9 mpg and is a 4 speed with 4:11 gears. Not a highway driver. Unrealistic for daily use although the coolness factor is much bigger.

$$$$ is tight now that the Red Sox wines are dead and I can't sink $$$ into a BMW and a cruiser indefinitely. Combining both worlds would be ideal.

A diesel 80 would be perfect but dropping $20K minimum for a decent one isn't possible.

This is the first time I'm considering selling anything without the flipper bug in my ear. Kinda weird feeling......
