Toyota ain't what it used to be.

While I love Toyota's I just don't feel they are as reliable as they once were.

My 2008 Tundra has had the gas pedal recall done. Its been to the dealer twice in the past two weeks to fix/diagnose a saging front dash board, cab mounts, serp belt and tensioner and the front differental . I have to bring it back in to have them actually replace the diff, serp belt and tensioner,

They won't even give me a loaner car because its not more than 8 hours worth of work. What about the two prior days I left it with them so they could diagnose it.

Not exactly the "Quality" I thought I was purchasing. My truck only has 30k on it. :frown:

Sad but true. I don't know if other manufacturers have caught up or even surpassed them or they have just gotten lazy. Ir seems like they just don't care anymore. And just riding on their name and past rep.

Toyota traded quality for quantity many years ago.

They used to make products that were head and shoulders above the competition but that hasn't been the case for more then a decade. Now, pretty much everyone makes a "good" product but almost no one makes a "great" one.

I'm hopeful that their current woes will have them refocus on the product again and less on "being #1 in sales."

Just rolled 100K on my Tacoma, it has not been back for anything, but is starting to show it's age. The AC has issues and is starting to make noise, the temp/direction sensor went out ages ago and there are way to many "rattles".

I would agree with the downward trend, my 1999 only went back to Toyota once for the frame recall and it had 165K (and I never saw it again....).

Just figured I would tell you all I was at all wheel today and the 80 did not even hesitate were as everyone else got stuck at some point. I did hit a tree though ( tiny one bout 4 inches) and pushed in left arb wing into 80, not impressed with that.

^The mighty 80 does it again!! Why would anyone want anything else?

So are we doing a Yt calendar for 2011?
Please, please, please

Looking at the current issue of TLCA Magazine I noticed that they listed all the many TLCA club events nationally in 2010. Unfortunately, the Fall Gathering was excluded. Is that an oversight or because we aren't a sanctioned TLCA event? If we are not sanctioned, my concern would be that contributing vendors might be less inclined to contribute to a non-sanctioned TLCA even in the future.

I believe fall gathering is mentioned, ill check, yes mentioned and its under non sanctioned!
What is thew difference between sanctioned and non anyways????

It's listed under non-sanctioned events and I think that is fine. We have an excellent relationship with our vendors who have supported us year after year regardless of TLC "sanctioning."

While the TLCA is a great resource for Cruiser owners, and the Magazine is great, we've never found there to be any advantage to us to having them sanction our event(s).

Anything the TLCA sanctioning gets us is redundant to what we already get from the NEA4WDC.

I remember pointing out to Sheri that there was a list of non-sanctioned events in Toyota Trails and we were not listed. She communicated with TLCA and had it added to their published list.
