Nice score at Kens!

The owner of Kens is Jim Reid, good people.

Bridgeport is a great area!

My brother just picked up these for me in Texas. Now I just gotta get them to Vegas to see about making them functional again :D I'm thinking that a Teq restore on a couple of them would be cool :D

Anyone know where I can buy cases of 200A or conventional globes?

I've run across them before, but can't seem to find them now. You might holler at Lonestarlantern on ebay about a case price.

Thanks

CO2 cartridge holder. Automatically pressurized the tank. No more pumping :)

I had a feeling that's what you'd say! I wonder if we can still buy those :hhmm:

The search begins.

Absolutely Jack, However, I need about 20 globes and was hoping to get them cheaper than Coleman wants :)

I got this lantern for my dad for Christmas (and his birthday, they are a week apart). It's pretty cool because it is his "birthday" lantern.

I bought it off eBay months ago. I had been looking for a while, and this was the only one that turned up so I jumped on it.

It is an A-46, which means it is an early '46 model. (His birthday is January '46.) It is an ex-Canadian Seafoam-painted 242B. At some point in its life the paint was stripped off and the brass was polished. The only paint left is on the bottom.

It was not sold as functional, but it is rare that these need more than pump leather oil and a cap gasket. I replaced those, along with the missing burner cap. It pumped up, held pressure, and hissed air when the valve was opened. Perfect.

I burned on a new mantle, filled it up with fuel, went out for a test fire, and... nothing happened. It wasn't getting fuel. So I had to give it to him in not-yet-working condition. Did I mention that I waited to the last minute to get it working?

I got it apart today and found that the needle in the fuel/air tube had some corrosion on the tip and was stuck in the closed position, so it couldn't suck any fuel from the fount. A little cleanup and we were back in business.

It should outlast him now!

Good on the air fuel needle. I have a military coleman that is doing the same thing. Hold pressure, hisses, but doesn't light up. I couldn't even get it to burn the mantles. The flame would blow away from them.

I have five lanterns, and of them, only the 200 works. It works great in fact.

The family hunt camp in ontario, canada is a haven of old coleman goodness. One unit in particular that sticks out is a naptha 3 burner free standing range with oven. Main body is a light tan enamel finish, burners sit below heavy cast grates on top. Oven sits bottom left, tank behind bottom right door. Top of main grates is about waist high. Dimensionally it is about 3 1/2 long by just over one deep. Has anyone else ever run across one of these? Local legend holds it to be a relic of the lumber camps that existed in the area around the turn of the century. (the origin of this building....yes, as far as we can tell it is that old) Yep, still works. Also to be found is a round tank 2 burner portable stove, stamped tank 3 burner portable stove, long neck style with wooden handle 2 mantle lamp in a medium tan finish with original shade, stove oil/kerosene/diesel burning space heater that stands over 4 feet tall, by 3 by two in a dark brown enamel finish, small style polished tank single mantle unit, large body single mantle kerosene unit as well as a couple other bastard lamps build of mismatched parts. Fun facts, one can run a kerosene unit on naptha without changing generator if proper pre heat is applied to minimize flare up. And as a bonus, this particular unit is the quietest coleman lamp i've come across. Yes, there is a can with the proper funky bent neck for filling preheat cup with globe in place. You savvy old timers will know what I'm talking about. Also to be seen is an even older 2 mantle unit with nickle finish tank requiring external style pump, with what appears to be an original ceramic shade.

Whatcha think about that, all? questions comments?

I think I speak for most everyone when I say- come back with pics.

One slight deviation from the Coleman theme is I have a propane lantern that is, I think, Primus. I've tried to find some details. I believe it's marked 1977. Thing is, I can't find another even close to it. The lantern head sits on a propane tank of about 10lb size, and has a neck about two feet long. The tank is marked DOT, but I think that only related to transporting.
