Thanks, tank tabs say 3 74

Garage sale, $5
Finally got the new pump cup for this stove. I was going to post a picture of the stove lit but while I was dicking around trying to figure out how to do that with the new phone something blew and I had a fire ball.

At any rate the flame was not blue it was kind of orange so I need to look at the generator and air inlets.

So there is a thrift store here with these two stoves advertised on CL. I know the picture sucks, but it's the only one. Anyone know anything off hand? Would the bottom one be a liquid fuel stove? He's only asking $15.00 each, which makes the risk to reward pretty good.

The bottom one would be a coleman fuel (liquid fuel) stove. The top one looks like a canister propane model.

$30 and your still thinking? i would buy it in a jiffy.

The bottom one is for sure a liquid fuel stove. $15 is the right price but make sure the tank is there! I'm guessing mid to late 70s. They stayed the same for years though so hard to say. Buy it. Pocket change and it will work forever. Hard to go wrong.

The upper one is an early propane model.

Many times Thrift stores will haggle. Offer $20 for both, then Craigs list the LPG one for $25 and take the first offer you get for more than$15.

I bought the liquid fuel stove. The lady running the place was a total milf so no haggling. Will post some pics of before and after cleaning.

^^^^^ Forget about pictures of the stove just post pics of the MILF,i would have haggled just to keep her talking and flirt a bit. LOL.

well...here it is. It's in actually pretty good shape. Will clean it up and get some white gas . Hopefully she lights up.

Sweet! Just like the one I scored. I cleaned the long tube that goes into the tank with extra fine steel wool and paint thinner being very careful with that needle like ending and the spring. Fired right up after 40 years.

Might need a little oil on the pump cup leather too.

Wow that was a deal for a barely used stove!

I thought i'd share with you my Canadian Made 444B model Coleman white gas stove, stamped 01 55 but i don't know much about these and all the numbers. I read it is similar to the US Made 413 model.
Like a well engineered LC, it's golden era stuff - stoked. its big, simple to clean and oh so stable compared to my MSR whisperlite. ;)

- i could brew beer on this thing: for scale that's our 12inch 3 gallon pot, which fits - easily two could!
- i just got it last weekend for 20 bucks, with a funnel and a can of gas!
i had to unstick the pump, dismantling the latch and oiling the insides and leather pump with a skinny brush and my finger. i used what i had at hand, mineral oil. I rebuilt all the burners and brushed up the old aluminum tray, removing the old greasy food, not put there by me. it's a nice clean brushed aluminum now.

Next, I'll dismantle and rebuild the fuel regulator pipe;

Nice stove, great price.

That date has to be wrong. The case, grate, latch wind wing attachment and burner tray all say about 1966.

It is mandatory you post a flame shot once it's running.

My MIL brought me this March '14 copy of Country Living magazine.

Next time a lantern shows up at the house, I'll just tell my wife that I'm "decorating".
