As I'm sure you know, the (not so) face-lifted LX is trickling in more day by day.
With the market for LCs dwindling, its only going to get more popular.
It is (un?)fortunately the black sheep of the j200 family. Albeit my favorite model. (and by far the best looking IMO)
I personally have so little to draw from on MUD for my truck, and there is of course a whole diff forum for the 300 and 600 where they can hash out their discrepancies.
I would like to see a pin or master thread for the range 16-21 LX 570.
Dissent however has a full package for the LX 600 now though that no one will buy? LOL
Its a 3 year wait for the 600 and dissent went all out? But the one that people will buy to modify and already have has nothing tailored for it? Make that make sense for me dissent.
Not only are all these things unique, but the info about anyone who has actually done anything is scrambled all over different threads.
Theres probably no support for this because there are like 6 people who own one here. But i wont really know until i ask and see whos lurking around.
But either, way, the need will present itself eventually. These model years cant be ignored forever.
I like our black sheep (have a 2018) and am actually looking at a second one! I would keep one mild for road trips and one a bit more wild for ... long road trips interspersed with side jaunts to over touristed mall crawling destinations out west. Just a few quick thoughts and additions ...
1) Parts - Happy to contribute to the thread and to confirm that I'd be down for some 2016 specific gear, but I don't know if everyone is after the same parts. FWIW for me:
- Front bumper - might be in but not sure what my ideal would look like. I am actually thinking about the 2016+ LC bumper from Slee (loved the original Blueberry build).
- Sliders - something without rivet nuts (hate having those break loose and have seen that a number of times on other vehicles). If I do ditch AHC for some coilovers the second best part, beyond using some parts I already ordered for an LC, would be the ability to install some bolt on sliders. I can handle adding the LC rocker panel or some cleanly trimmed and factory rockers. But again, I hear what you're after and if it was rivet-nut free I'd be down.
- Alternative for the $11K central HVAC and AHC control unit when it decides to stop working.
- Long travel, larger shaft diameter AHC shocks for desert runs!
- Rear bumper - good with what's available for the rest of the LC line
- Racks - not a fan of aftermarket racks but I'm in the minority on Mud on that (seen more than leak, even when installed by a top shop and an aircraft mechanic)
2) In Dissent's defense on the LX600 vs the LX570, I'll let them weigh in if they like but I believe Lexus commissioned them to build out an LX600, similar to how Lexus asked CBI to build out a 2019 LX that resulted in the bumper and sliders for those. If ten of us came to them with one new design request or gave them some design freedom and a deposit I think we would have some pretty cool stuff to play with.
To circle back to where I started, in terms of praise though... As a daily, and depending on how you use it and what your dealer service options are like there are few if any vehicles quite like it. After just doing a three state run in my LX starting at 4:00 a.m., I have to say the 2016+ LX is one of my favorite vehicles.
Nice buddy! Having two you def win lol.
Im going to mock up something on photoshop for the front and rear as ive been really thinking a lot about the cuts i would make. It would be very much to the tune of the minimal dissent 600 but more aggressive towards the wheel arch where our bumper is basically empty inside.
As far as sliders im interested in powerboards with an in cabin kill switch and plating for AHC. Not sliders. But the best ones for our rig are dissent in terms of aesthetic. They are a square and plate and not a safari bar design.
These aren’t immediate needs for me though and i have yet to take it anywhere outside of ranch crawling. Never planning to do anything hardcore with it though, more overland and apocalypse truck for me and road trips.
I drove my 470 cross country NY-SF like 8 times. 570 is better in every way outside of my annoying shimmy, but my 470 was stock…
I have some disappointing news about AHC ive been meaning to make a post about. But dont give up on it yet.
I have some stuff coming for AHC shortly. Will post some info when its installed!
I always liked the looks of the tail lights on the LX 570, but when comparing the LX 600 with the LC 300, I like LC 300 look better. Someone pointed out to me that the LX 600 looks like a minivan from the rear and now I can't "unsee" that image. Compare the two:View attachment 3170940They wouldn't let me drive it since it was sold though.
Couldnt say i loved it but its better than LC.
They didnt fake split gap the more upscale eye of the lexus clientele i guess .LOL
TBH the license area kinda ruins the cleanliness of it. And no more side lights.

Don’t insult the Honda……at least it has a REAL defined rear bumper!I always liked the looks of the tail lights on the LX 570, but when comparing the LX 600 with the LC 300, I like LC 300 look better. What tiger? You don’t want a minor rear tap needing a $15k hatch replacement?
At least it is an angry hatch rather than happy one....I always liked the looks of the tail lights on the LX 570, but when comparing the LX 600 with the LC 300, I like LC 300 look better. True. But, that angry look seems to give it about the same departure angle as the Honda minivan. At least it is an angry hatch rather than happy one....
Dissent actually knows how to design things it seems.
They hit the 600 out of the park. WHY DID YOU SKIP MY TRUCK DISSENT. FAAACK!
PLUS, i told everyone early on bumpers would be difficult without chocking off the twin side coolers and was laughed out the thread.
Whos laughing now?

ABSOLUTELY NAILED THE REAR.
We were disappointed overall after test driving the LX600 as we had planned to order one to replace the LX570 we had sold the year prior. But I have to admit that I really like what they did with this concept, aesthetically speaking it definitely improves the exterior.
Lopsided is a good way to describe the 600's interior, it was one of the biggest detractors for us. And while I don't care about sunroofs I have to admit that the lack of a panoramic sunroof at this price point and position in the market is a huge miss especially when compared to its competition.

Power was good, no complaints there, really it was more of a feel of the cockpit for us. Aside from the gauges, weird double screen on the center stack and an overall more compact feeling interior, it was the distance to the windshield, windshield angle and length of the hood/frontend that threw us off. The truck felt longer due to these dimensions and design, we both noticed that right away. It looks more or less like a modern GX and the smaller interior dimensions in places make it feel more like one as well.
