Our 2016 has been the best vehicle that we have owned. It came with 2015 20" wheels (for sale!), and I swapped for some used OEM 2016 Land Cruiser 18" wheels with 285/60 AT3 tires from a fellow forum member. When these tires wear out or if/when I get another unfixable flat, I will put LT270/70R18s KO3s on for an OEM+ 33" tire look.Bringing this back from the dead because my 2018 just got put on a truck to make its way to me. Can't wait to get started on a mild OEM+ build and would love to see more of the newer models from you guys.
Nice rig! My ‘18 has grown up a little since I posted that. I just got back from 10 days in Death Valley and couldn’t have been happier with the LX.Our 2016 has been the best vehicle that we have owned. Attaching some photos from last August at Sierra View overlook and Grandview campground. We lived out of the LX for 5 days camping, all up and down the Sierras and the White Mountains (a regular pilgrimage that we do).
We also want to keep it OEM plus. Icom radio and antenna, aforementioned slightly larger 33" K03s, and maybe a Prinsu roof rack. Keep it simple and drive it.
I am always on the lookout for a clean set of TRD rock warriors 17" wheels, but they are sort of unicorns.

It’s a midland mtx275 radio and mtxa26 whip antenna mounted to my ditch light bracket. I used the last blank under the hatch close button to install an RJ45 outlet connected to the radio in the glove box so it’s almost invisible unless it’s being used. Works a treat, just can’t figure out where to mount the handset clip doodad. I can get you some pics if you’re interestedFantastic! Good looking build!
I like your antenna setup and wheel/tire setup. What antenna and radio setup are you running?
Correct. The threaded brackets needed to bolt the rack on are not there. The flush rails are held on by bolts running up from below instead of the other way around. To the 16+ owners who have experience in this, let me get this straight: the only way to put an aftermarket roof rack on is to drop the headliner? No work around found yet?
That’s disappointing, having read the long thread on doing this, but thanks for the confirmation and explanation.Correct. The threaded brackets needed to bolt the rack on are not there. The flush rails are held on by bolts running up from below instead of the other way around.
