I’ve been looking at the IPOR gear package for my locked 1997, $749 includes shipping. (http://www.ironpigoffroad.com//index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=2_18&products_id=45)
So along comes this group buy on the mud board (https://forum.ih8mud.com/80-series-tech/416315-ring-n-pinion-sets-group-buy-3.html) and for 25 people they will be selling what appears to be an identical gear package for $699 plus $25-$65 for shipping. A deal which works out to somewhere in the neighborhood of $25 cheaper to $15 more.
That’s it? Is this all the discount group buys normally generate? Or am I missing something? I guess the t-shirt and stickers could be worth something? Anyone want to offer me a lot of money for a t-shirt or stickers?
If enough people, say 25, are willing to pay enough I will arrange a group buy of t-shirts and stickers. Can’t say how much yet, but if it will get you to commit I’ll promise to claim to be selling you t-shirts and stickers for 37+% off.
Let me know.

I think the group buy comes with the install kits for that price. Does ipor include the install kits for $749 I am wondering because I have bought other items from ipor and would be willing to spend a little extra to give them my business since they are such a good vendor.

Phil,
Happy to hear you think an 80 with 35's is perfect! You’re the only cruiser that ever made me second guess my decision to pick up an 80 instead of a 100. Now I just need to explain this to my mother-in-law that I talked into buying an 100.:hhmm:
P.S., you in for any T-Shirts or stickers?:grinpimp:

Jimmany xmas, baby haysoos on a stick, how many :censor: threads, phone calls does it take to buy a :censor: set of gears? You :censor: obsess more than a :censor: German scientist!:o:hillbilly: Last I heard you have little bitty :princess: tires on your :princess: rig, why would you even need them?:o

If you are that desperate, I have 3 sets sitting here. My guess is you could negotiate to barrow one, so you could obsess even longer on it's replacement. Why would you buy full bearing kits for an elocker? The carrier bearings are huge, last just about forever and one needs to be cut off, so a serious pain in the :censor:. The most I would buy is a pinion kit.:hillbilly:

You read into my post....MY 80 is perfect without not an 80:flipoff2:

FWIW - There will always be a 100 in my driveway

Oh this is just the beginning im afraid, wait until he actually compares places and prices to put them in. Its giving me a headache and I already have 4.88's done. regear or not to, I like mine just for the fact that my truck performs the exact same way it did stock, but with baby tires like Cook has..........

Gee, thanks Kevin. Um, just until Zuk gets back, would you mind installing them for me? Thanks again.

I know I'm late to the party, but yes, our everyday price includes F/R quality gears and F/R quality install kits.

:pI posted on the group buy about beating your price. When they didn't, I was :hhmm: going to call you guys and see if you would come down for 20-30 people. No hurry now that your everyday price still holds up to the pressure. I have other things to buy.:meh:
