pipe thing.....Mine's all rusty and I'm wondering how difficult &/or expesnive it would be to replace....I figure I have a couple of monthes before it gets really snotty out and with my luck the thing will fail right during a cold snap.

Rob, the PS cooler is something like 250.00, if you search you might find the cost from CDan. The radiator has to come out to get at it. Up here in NE we have had a few fail already so you're not far from failure I'm sure. If it does fail you can source a union at Home Depot and clamps to jump out the cooler so you can drive the vehicle. They tend to fail just as the pipes turn under the radiator at the DS frame rail.

The p/s cooler failed on mine last dec...smart shopper price of $223....luckily it didn't go bone dry and caught it in time...now worried about the ones by the D/S by the frame rail..

Hmmm....maybe the removal of the sheet metal plate below that area a few years ago contributed to the demise of the cooler.....Rob M Concord, MA USA

Has anyone done this and then added a real cooler like a transmission cooler from a taurus or escort?

Is the only reason the line is metal, is for cooling? Seems a heck of a lot cheaper to pull it out or cut out the rusted section, and run hose through a new cooler as mentioned.

Thanks,
