Hello you guys. Thank you for your input in my last post (s). It cost me a small fortune over here in Finland. (I am from NY) but I bought the 2007 3.0 D4D Land Cruiser with 173 hp.
Now come the mods... I am uneducated here. Where should I begin. I see these "chip boxes" that go after the computer and plug into this "six pin common rail".. For a 20 HP boost. I have seen them for 75-750 dollars. Anyone recommend one that is tried and proven? Anyone know of a K&N filter that would fit the box? Do I do K&N shocks?? I can go on and on.. Any input on where to be begin with a stock 07' would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You again EVERYONE!

K&N shocks?

no idea what a D4D is but a quick search showed various affairs from Corolla to Hilux...

So what did you get exactly?

3.0 D-4d comes in Toyota Hilux, Toyota Hiace, Toyota Fortuner and Toyota Land Cruiser Prado/Colorado (120 - 150 series)

D-4D stand for straight-4 common rail diesel engine with 16 valves and a DOHC (double overhead camshaft).

2007 Toyota Land Cruiser would look something like this:

That would be a 120 series, what we call a Prado in OZ, the engine is the 1KD-FTE; D4D is simply some kind of acronym for the common rail diesels, the 1VD-FTE (4.5 v8 TD) VDJ7# and 200 get the D4D designation too.
Apparently the 1KD is good for 650 nm according to GTurbo...(yes, you know you want to...)

Thank you all for the input. Took possesion of the LC today. Paid 35K... I am in anger mode mode now. They did a full service, Timing Belt, Water Pump change etc etc etc... I got the car and my 15 minute drive home and my driving around town was nuts. The clutch was sooo hard,my foot was dead. (And Im a big guy).. So different from my hour long test drive. Anything they could have screwed up in its "major" servicing. Its a 2007 btw. Thanks everyone.

and we still don't know what you got...

Hello all, I apologize for my long 2 month delay. I took the LC wity thae fam on a 2 month trip through Norway, Sweeden, and Denmark. All went great. As far as Amir goes you said it. I own a 2007 LC Prado... You can scroll up and read about what has been said about my 3.0 D4D... I just want help. If any of you cannot help than possibly you know of a Diesal 100+ series that could help a fellow friend. Thanks guys for being a lil out of the box. Sincerely, Graham

The 2007 Prado is exactly the same in terms of lift, etc as FJ, 4Runner, etc. I run a Prado bumper and snorkel on my GX470 (US Lexus version of the Prado with a V8 petrol). Order up some Iron Man or Old Man Emu parts and bolt them on. They make stuff model specific for your truck.

Hey guys. I still as an American looking at 2007s in the US compared to mine. And I guess mine is a Prado... I read so much garbage on the net about the Prado vs. a plain US LC. I dont know what to do. I guess its a 120.. 2007 is I guess a changover year which makies buying parts honestly difficult on Ebay etc... Any comments, help, etc is appreciated. Thank you!

It is a 120 platform. The suspension and armor for the Prado will all fit from ARB and Iron Man 4x4 and should be able to be sourced locally for you. Just make sure if you get a snorkel you get diesel one!

Old Man Emu as well.

Thank you guys for your help so far!!! I appreciate the advice to different sites.. I though would like to keep the suspension stock and say boosting the HP via one of those chip that you plug inline on the fuel rail... Any advice? There is so much turbo lag that it is driving me nuts.. Any solutions.. Any exhaust / Air Cleaner improvements out there? Or anything for that matter that will help with power..
And my 2007 has about 75K on the clock. Sometimes it grinds, sometimes it wont go into gear, the clutch is really hard, it release almost at the top... I cant believe a LC clutch could last only 75K.. What do you guys think?
Thanks in advance, Graham
