hey all,
i'm considering selling my baby. this is a test to see if there is any kind of a market out there for this particular machine. it started life as a canadian issue 1981 BJ60.
sorry, don't have photos at this writing, but here's the goods:
The diff housings are equipped with the factory 3.7:1 ring/pinion, but a set of factory low mileage 4.11s are available. The head was off the engine not long ago…new steel precups, rockers gone over, new valve seats and a nice, newly designed, factory head gasket! Brakes are nearly new all around. Turbo was virtually new when installed a year ago. Tires are less than a year old.
Sadly, the engine either needs repair or replacement. Replacement is much cheaper than a rebuild and good ones can be found for around $1,000 to $1,500 canadian. If you can just get a decent short block, then it could be even cheaper by using my cylinder head. Maybe you own a 3B already!
Vehicle is complete, just not running, and was a very reliable daily driver until engine spun a big end bearing a few months ago. The interior is worn, but typical for an old truck and completely workable. Look around and see what sort of BJ60 you can get for a few thousand bucks…usually a rusty, sagging truck with a good reputation. Or, buy this truck, drop in an engine (or short block and my cylinder head) and bolt everything back together and in a weekend you’ll be the envy of many! All the hard work is already done!
The vehicle is located in british columbia...about 5 1/2 hours north of seattle. Again, this is a test. if anyone is serious and thinks this vehicle is worth their energy, please let me know.
cheers,
roy
