Has anyone tried the aftermarket "tesla style" head units? I've seen reports of people installing these in other Toyotas/Lexuses with good results, but curious if anyone has tried on a 200.

I considered looking at this a while back but landed on not doing it because of all the headaches it could cause given it controls so much of the car.

I have an Android Hu in my minivan. It’s awesome. Sadly the climate controls present a pretty big hurdle.

If you have a standard head unit without navigation it shouldn't be a problem to install one.

I have explored a while back but couldn't find anyone in US with Lc16+ install. Information from Chinese stores have limited info and most are resellers from somewhere else and do not have technical knowledge. Don't want to loose $800 on something that may be useless.

Hello,

I am planning to do a post on my install. This is the very latest hu for Toyota Land Cruisers 2008 - 2018 (new design), I did not have any issues with the install (other than typical no instructions from stuff from china). All controls work, only Eflasher, seatbelt light, security light, hard controls left (see on right side of unit). Price was $630/install was a little over 1 hour.

Thanks,

Michael

Does the rear dvd still work?

Awesome, I've inquired about the 12.1" many times and was always told it would not work with factory Nav/JBL systems like the one in my 2013. Hopefully this unit will...

I've just been biding my time waiting for this to come available. I have a generic one in the minivan, it cost $150 for a 10.1 screen on a double din (no optical). They get a pretty good premium for the plastics/fit kit.

I did not even check that yet (I never use it so forgot about it) I am guessing it will not work, I will check for sure. I can also say this unit does not have android auto or apple play, however it has a more generic app that work for those mobile phone functions.

Cheers,

Michael

How is the phone BT audio? My '08 has been really good in that department, compared to aftermarket I've had in the past, and I'd sure hate to lose that. It looks like a really good fit from the pic - would you agree with that?
