Very excited to see this thing fired up!

Does this unit have android auto/apple CarPlay integrated in it?

@CBeckFJ - It does not. I did however find a wireless CarPlay adapter on Amazon that I'll be trying out when it arrives.

Checking back in here with an update:

- Never got the factory AMP working. It's pretty clear the 'Amp On' wire is not lighting up the Amplifier. No help from seller. Reached out to Navihua as well, and they didn't have anything to offer.

- Moving forward with 5 channel amp install for my system. Will use head unit AUX out connections > AMP > New speaker wiring. Most cost effective upgrade I found after reviewing a bunch [amp bypass, etc, etc etc.]

- CarPlay - as mentioned, found a brand new wireless[!] dongle on Amazon and will be wiring that up to see if it gives me another added level of awesomeness.

.. as mentioned this does take a minute to boot up. Most Android systems do.

Can you post link to the adapter you purchased? waiting to hear results... I have the vline2 currently in one of my trucks and like it because its plug and play and has CarPlay.

Installed into a 2003 LX. OE NAV plugs are different in 03 than 04+ And included harness didn’t work. With the 03 and 04 wiring diagrams I was able to hardwire it. The sound was terrible after installation. I finally found an output setting that corrected it. Currently everything is working as expected. The fit is a 7 out of 10. Other than huge challenges of no instructions, directions and near zero product support I am happy with the product. The factory 03 radio is so outdated there wasn’t much to loose.

This is so tempting!

Is it safe to assume the '04+ install is easier? I'm not wiring genius...

(edit) - Just saw the other thread with a similar question.

Does the Torque Pro app work on this? Or the Gia GPS app?

Did you need to cut into the factory wiring? I'm interested in one of these for an 03 LC but don't want to mangle up any factory wiring.

I have gone back and forth with the supplier of the unit I purchased on the included wiring harness for the 2003 model. I recently received a replacement that is a correct plug-in-play for the 2003. They referred to is as a "top model" application. Good news is it exists and works :)

I also purchased and installed their recommended back up camera at the same time.

Funny. I just had to ask for the same cable and they also told me mine was a "high-end model". Glad to know that I can expect it to work when it gets here.

So is there a consensus on if this is worth it or not? I'm planning QOL upgrades and am trying to decide on going this route or the full HVAC-double DIN swap in my 04.

So far, I would recommend it. However, I don't have the correct harness yet, so my climate control is not working. Assuming that will work once I receive the new harness, it functions quite well. It's relatively responsive and has good sound quality.

One thing I noticed is that if I WiFi hotspot off my phone, the bluetooth connectivity suffers (not sure if it's proximity of antennas, bandwidth limitation, etc) - so much so that I have to mute the music playing from my phone if I need WiFi on the unit.

A couple of quirks (IMO):
  • The "next track" and "previous track" buttons are the steering wheel are backwards - the down arrow goes to the next track and the up arrow starts the current track over or plays the previous track.
  • Bluetooth doesn't automatically start playing when you restart the vehicle - even if the screen was just in "sleep mode" (not a full reboot)
  • It's really bright even at lowest setting. At night I just sleep the screen (there's a little icon for this on the top left of the screen).

Are there instructions on how to mount the camera? Where does it go? . So, the new harness did not come with the unit?

Trying to get my ducks in a row before I purchase, Thanks!

Can you elaborate on the climate control not working? I am in the middle of troubleshooting the install in my 04 LX, and I get really erratic behavior. Sometimes the climate control works for the entire drive, sometimes I can't turn the fan on at all, and other times it changes randomly. Wondering if this is what you are seeing with the incorrect wiring harness.
