This one looks interesting, but it's normally open-I think that means to keep it closed, it will need 12V applied all the time. I'm kinda like you, living in Fla. don't really need the heater that often. The in-cab manual valve is looking better and better--@sggoat THIS electric valve is rated up to 265* - it should work.
But, you could also run a hose loop thru the firewall (about a 1" hole) and install a manual valve under or in the dash.
I'm gonna install a brass manual valve under the hood - I don't really need a heater here in Nevada. Even when it's cold out, the engine keeps me warm.
