Looks like my heater core took a dump, as there is coolant collecting in my passenger side floorboard.

Is it possible to bypass the core temporarily to make the rig usable until new core arrives?

Not sure on which hoses to join....

Howdy! Yup, go for it. A very common and popular solution. John

So it looks like I can just connect the hose coming over the back of the valve cover to the line that snakes down and around the dissy, etc.

Anybody that's done this give me a confirmation as to ease my soul...

Yup. Ya just connect the input to the output without the heater in the middle any more. You may have a little coolant continue to drip out of the heater core, but don't sweat it. John

years ago I had the same issue in my 80 .. I just put a cap on each side and after a couple of years are still in the same place .. :D ( actually we don't need that down here maybe that's why )

Either solution will work: Bypass or cap off. FWIW, new aftermarket about $72 at rockauto.com
