Temp/Fuel Gauge Question

Gas gauge was low, so I put 20 bucks in it. Now the gauge reads full, but I know it isn't full. Shortly after, the temp gauge maxed out. I was wondering if the two were related (like do they share a common ground or anything)

Let the truck sit for a few hours and the gas is still maxed, but the temp is lower.

What is the normal operating temp range?

(2H Engine)

Don't know if this is a recurring problem or not, as it was the first time I have ever put gas in it and drove it on the road.

time to ditch those toyota gauges and get some real ones!!

It is a piss off though, at least my gas and voltmeter still work for now, the tack is on its way out, needs to warm up and the speedo works. Oil pressure and coolent temp are FUBARED so I have 3 isspro gauges on the dash, by far the best money i've spent for piece of mind!

someone suggested it could be the alternator???

I just want to make sure it isn't really overheating.
