so i guess ill ask this here instead of "tow rig".....

when do i need to plug up my truck at night, or does it ever get cold enough to need that?

edit: i'm talking about my engine block heater on my f250.

I don't think it will ever get cold enough down here for that.

Winch Control Wiring

So I need someone to look over my wiring schematic. I will eventually have winches installed in both my front and rear bumpers. I will be using the Albright style solenoids to control each winch. In doing so there will be no 5-Pin plugs to control them (I don't have them and don't want them). I want to be able to control the winches in the cab and also wirelessly using the Badlands remote from Harbor Freight. Below is a diagram of what I have planned. Keep in mind that these are only small gauge control wires. The heavy gauge stuff will be between the battery, solenoids, and winches. This is just to actuate the solenoids. Let me know if you see any issues with my idea. It almost seems too simple and that has me concerned.

Looks like that will work to me bud but if your using the one wireless control box wouldn't you need a switch to toggle between the front and rear with the one wireless remote?

Basically the front and rear toggle grounds each solenoid. The other switch choses the direction by sending a positive feed to the solenoid. So the since the direction is chosen by a positive feed, that should be the only signal needed from the remote box. I have to ground the remote box so that it can receive the wireless signal. Is that the right way to think about it?

Cool, that sounds right to me bud

yup:)

Can the differentials from a mini truck be installed in a first gen 4cyl tacoma?

With the drivers side drop on the transfer case i know i can't use my axle for a sas, but if i could at least swap my lockers it would help.

what lockers do U have?

the aussie no diff part #`s

spool not sure possible

Ok thanks Paul. Went check out a Tacoma this afternoon. I liked it but the 2.7 didn't have as much spunk as i thought it would have. Had some 33s with stock gears, but sure thought 150hp would move the truck better than it did.

Thought if i could just swap the chunks from the runner it would help. Think i am gonna just keep looking though.

I've never used a bearing packer. Obviously it would be cleaner than doing it by hand, but is there one out there that can pack it better than doing it by hand?
