I have a slight bit of rust on my 04 GX, nothing major, but would get worse if not treated as is with all of these vehicles. Wondering if I should go down the route of sanding it all down and using Por-15? Or, will a yearly application of Fluid Film do the job just fine? I don't mind what's on it now, I just don't want it to get worse. Anyone had experience with Fluid Film/Krown/Rust Check?

I brushed some Corroseal on the frame of my 2004 GX after a good wire brushing/cleaning with brake cleaner, it had a few crusty spots(front rad support/rear axle/couple of places on the frame. Seems to be doing the job so far. I will probably do some Fluid Film/used motor oil on the inside of the frame at some point.

How did your corroseal hold up? I did it on my GX a few years ago and the rust was back with a vengeance within 6 months. I prepped and made sure it was clean. I have two bottles left over and plan to do it again at some point. Any tips/tricks?

Will know over the winter. I didn't prep much tbh... I'm sure it will come back but slowing it down is key from where I'm sitting.

I'm in the same boat. Rust has started to take over my frame over the last few years. Fluid Film after the corroseal will be my next try. Hopefully it holds up better. Good luck!

Corroseal will work great, but the instructions on the bottle are pretty clear that they expect you to put a top coat of something else on it.

Even though it dries with a nice finish, Corroseal is a rust converter, not a final finish.

I've been putting the VHT Chasis paint or Epoxy paint (pretty sure it is the same stuff in different cans) over the top of the Corroseal after letting it cure for 24 or 48 hours.

It makes the frame look like new and has held up great so far.
