looking for a window switch that goes in middle of the tailgate. It has 3 wires that go to the junction board. Need one with a key that works. or has anybody ever checked to see if toyota still supplies?
or has anybody ever found a different replacement that works?
thanks for any help

tried to fix it today, tumbler corroded by the time I got it worked free it was super loose and wire broke from solder and couldn't get it to resolder.

I have found that most of the rear window keys open ALL 55 rear windows. mine is a 70 and a friend had a 79 his key worked in mine and my key worked in his.

You'll notice that about most Toy keys. My 88 P/U key somewhat works with my 88 4runner. The tumbler gets worn down and the keys get smoothed out and after a while the tolerances get low enough that other keys just work.

You don't need a key for any Pig rear window. A screwdriver blade, penny, flattened beer-bottle top, anything flat will turn the lock. But this is a very closely guarded secret...shhh! I probably have an extra one of those switches in my dungeon too.

Yep, I also figured this out, found an old corroded one and actually repaired it and works perfect with an old toyota key. but then I found that I don't have the ..always hot 12v...to the switch ...dadburnit... haven't found the problem yet.
the dash switch works fine. I've studied the wiring schematics and it seems I must have a broken wire. circuit breaker is good.
oh well.
