Yeah got me some of those they throw out some serious light. Here is the info on them and a Photo

Adjustable Focus ring - spotlight to flood. Although this feature doesn't really work in my opinion

- 50% & 100% output modes
- Emergency Strobe mode
- Cap light indicator at 20% battery life.

4Sevens make a sweet light as well. 4Sevens' 2-AA Quark light is good for 30 days continuous on low, and a couple of hours at 200 lumens. They are a little pricey so I went the Costco Route as I am needing new tires soon and will be saving my pennies for that. But the Costco Lights are pretty sweet and feel right at home in the little cubby in my door.

played with one.
It's true that the focus function is pretty much useless. The dot may increase maybe by 2x in diameter if that. (It's a pretty small dot in fact.)
Strobe is really very fast, not a slow flasher.
The serrated edge up front is pretty sharp. Not pointy, but the metal is thin. Not much of a weapon altogether though, but you'd smash on somebody's hand it would hurt. (Not that I would.)

Brightness does not seem very different from my Leatherman Monarch 500 from a couple of years ago which was 120 lumens IIRC. This one 2 or 3 times cheaper though. And nice to have 2 levels.

Had to dig my chop saw out of the shed last night and took my new light with me and played with it a little bit and it definately does throw out the light. I was able to throw a fairly good spot out a good 100 yards or so and saw a cat messing around on a surrounding hill about 100 yards away. Didn't try it but I bet you could light something up prob up to 200 yards away, especiallty if there isn't any other ambient light. Pretty impressed with this little light and the price is nice as well.

These don't come up on the Costco website either by the brand name or item number. What city/state are you seeing them in? Seems like a local item.

there are many items in the store that don't show up online IIRC. I think the 2 are separate entities, organizationally.

They are in the Costco's here in Montana

e9999, I like the heft of the Monarch 500, I never found it anywhere but at Costco for that one month or so. I even stopped by the Leatherman Factory store, which is 2 blocks from Costco, (next to the Danner factory store, yeah we're spoiled) but it never showed up there. I just bought a (third) car, a MINI, so I could use a flashlight for the new glove box. I will have to keep my eye out at the Portland store.

if you get really desperate, get in touch, I could be convinced to let my prized 500 go... :) It is indeed unusually solid for some reason. And on that one the adjustable focus works at least. And surprisingly, I don't see any difference in brightness with these 160 lumens ones.

I actually bought the Letherman monarch when it was at Costco, just wanted to find another one later. The 160 lumen one above, should be fine for the new car.

Found 'em. They're $20 for the package of two here which may have been what you meant. Thanks - great deal and I'll look forward to getting a couple.

I bought this flashlight at Costco today and spent some time playing around with it in my dark garage. The body is well made with a thick wall cylinder that meets a bunch of standard for waterproof, drop, and shock. The switch works okay as a general purpose light, but lacked the feel and function for a tactical light.

Since it uses 3 AAA batteries, it has a low cost of running and easy to find replacement battery. A really nice feature is push button lights up with a red LED when the battery is below20%.

I can pretty much confirm that this is flashlight does not put out anywhere near 160 lumens. It's barely brighter than my Fenix TK11 R2 in standard mode (64 Lumens). My estimate puts it at about 80-120 Lumens.

It's a cheap work light that I leave in my tool box and truck. One that puts out enough light for em to work on things and I won't feel too bad if it dissapears.

I'm sticking with the Fenix for my tactical use.

Bought the current Costco 160 lumen cree set, they don't seem very bright when you try it in a lighted environment, but I went outside and it lit up the trees and fence a hundred feet away, pretty well. The "half" brightness level, is virtually the same as the "full" brightness level, and you have to cycle through them to turn it off. You can do "momentary, by pressing and holding the switch, but you have to hold it for about 1.5 sec before it turns on. The switch is also so sensitive, I expect it to get inadvertently bumped and drain the batteries. Seems worth $10 a piece though!

I bought them as well, before I saw this thread, and don't have any complaints. For the money, not a bad set of cheap Chinese made flashlights, if I do say so myself.

Sorry if my comments were negative. I do recommend these lights at the low price of $10 each.

ah, I just saw in a Costco flyer that they have another set. 2 x 145 lumens + 2 x 80 lumens IIRC for $60. Cree LEDs. May be an online deal only, not sure.
4 for $60.

Man, it's like computers, I'm hesitant to buy this kind of stuff cuz you known there will be a much better one cheaper out there in 6 months... :)

Don't worry, these are disposable items!

The 2 pack of lights is now on sale at Costco for $15, according to the flyer in the mail today.
