OK...1st replacement of my thermostat after 240k miles or so, and I want y'all to verify something: Local dealership parts guy suggested to cut of the little movable 'pin' on the stat before installing it. True, or false?

I recall doing this on a GM product (but I don't remember why), and needed y'alls input.

Wrong, definitely don't cut that off, just install it in the 12 oclock position. HTH> :cheers:
 
the only thing I did was make sure the pinhole was facing up
