:frown: On my way home from camping today i was pulling onto the road and i heard a pop/clank noise from the drive train. The whine in the t-case got louder, and when i stopped at a stop sign it made some clanking noises in the t-case as i was slowing down then stopped when i drove again.

I got it home and everything, drove it a little in my parking lot and it quit making the clanking noise.

Did I just totally screw up a bearing or is there something bad in the gears?

It has 4-month old brand new 90W oil in it.

No way to guess based on your description. Get underneath and poke around and pull and jerk on things to see if anything isn't right. You could also remove the PTO cover on the Tcase and look inside for anything that isn't right.

Check parking brake drum, too

If one of the bolts holding the parking brake backing plate to the t-case works loose it'll bounce around in the parking brake drum at low speed (at higher speed it gets wedged against the drum and creates interesting grooves). Doesn't explain the whine, but worth checking. HTH and good luck!

ok

ill take it off and see what I can see. Thanks for the tip about the parking brake, if thats what it is it'll sure save me alot of time.

anything special that i should know about getting the t-case off?
