Looking for a link for a heavy duty hinge for a custom swing away tire carrier? I had the link but lost it. Did a search and came up with 45 minutes of nothing.

Also looking for gutter mounts from Conferr, somebodys got to have a box up in the shop somewhere!!

It rocks.

Bought the kit IPOR sells with spindle and latch for around $100. Turned out better than expected. Probably have $200 plus time in the carrier. Beats $800 or $900 that MAF is getting.

i just started using the IPOR hinge on my 60 bumpers.
i will not use anything else anymore.
they are tight and beefy, there is a big difference between these and the bearing spindles out there.

talked to IPOR and these spindles are rated at 2k lbs

I wish you'd quit posting pictures of skyline chili too! I'd give my right arm for a 4-way about now.

Will trade a can of skyline chili a day for a year for a sweet bumper ;)

Not to hijack the thread but, while your building this bumper, would it be too difficult to take pics and post it as a tech article. I am considering building one but having other input and ideas would help alot.

Thanks

Psstt.. You can buy it on-line... have it shipped to your door..

That stuff is good!

hijack over..

Luke at 4 x 4 labs makes this spindle. I can sit on my 37" spare with the swing out open and is wont sag at all. And I weigh 230.

The lights added to the carrier are Nice! Beats the orginals hitting on rocks, etc.

I have both the Slee spindle (now unavailable) and the IPOR. I think the 4x4lab spindle is the closest to the slee spindle. The Old slee spindle has 3/8" thick and the IPOR spindle is about 1/4". I think both are good. Maybe the thicker slee is gooder-maybe overkill. Just think out what you're doing before you start welding on the spindle. If you use pins to hold the carrier open, you'll have to compensate for the pin to bumper vs pin to spindle. HTH, ty

Here's the 4x4 labs link-http://www.4x4labs.com/products/index.html
