I'm swapping out my r150f for a w56. I used the cross member from my r150f on the w56 and the transmission is about 2 inches ahead to far. Is r150f and w56 cross members different? Thanks guys!!

I don't doubt that they are, just last night I was staring at my 2nd Gen with an R150f thinking the crossmember was swept forward and not straight across the like my '83.

I don't think a W56F transmission will bolt to a R150F bellhousing.

Why would you downgrade your truck from a R150f to a W56? The R150 is much stronger and more reliable.

And the bell housings are not the same bolt pattern.

I was thinking the same thing. R150F is the V6 tranny, W56F is from the 22RE. Won't swap. And the R150 is stronger.
