hi all, I am looking for suggestions from this fine group of experts on suspension upgrades. After months of looking for a GX, I have finally found one and purchased this week. It is currently getting some paint touch up and new brakes. Once I get it back I want to upgrade the suspension asap. My current suspension of choice is the Ironman TOY065BBKGS1P-KDSS-ADK. I chose this specifically due to price point and it comes with the airbag delete kit. I also really enjoy the YouTube videos Ironman has put out and find them very educational. I will primarily use this vehicle as a daily driver but it will also serve as my ski trip vehicle and light camping vehicle. So the day to day ride is really important to me. My question to the group is do any of you have experience with this suspension kit and/or does anyone have a better suggestion on suspension that would provide the most comfortable ride?

Thank you in advance for
Any input.

Just a "heads-up" to consider eventually what size tires, added weight and trails you'll be using, both near term and long term.
That may help determine not only the suspension system, but height and stiffness. I have Icon's stiffest suspension, but I full metal bumpers, sliders, skids, rack, roof top tent, etc. and my rig ride fantastic! Both my wife and I love it rides! But if I were to take everything off, it'd probably rattle our teeth out.

We have 5100s on our 4Runner and I will be putting them on the GX at some point as well, they are currently taking up
Space in the coat closet.

Unless my shocks fail I will wait to get them installed until I am doing a bumper and springs. The stock GX springs are pretty horrid offroad but I rarely get a chance to hit a trail where I am, so no reason to prioritize it.

Also, remember that the constraint on tires is front to back so lifting won't really get you space for a bigger tire, and that the GX has a relatively small space for a spare with some 265/65s not fitting, from other threads I have read.

I run the all seasons it came with in the winter as they do pretty well in snow, and MT/Rs don't like hard pack or ice.

By the way, congrats on your new (to you) GX!

For your use case(s), I believe the general consensus best performance/comfort/bang-for-buck system will be the Ironman FCP or the Dobinsons IMS.

I have the IMS on my GX and really enjoy it. I've played with $1200 Bilstein setups on my 4th gen 4Runner and $7k Radflo bypass systems on my 100 series and the IMS/FCP level of mid-budget system is great value and will meet your needs.

<-- this is a terrific video.

FYI, Ironman holds deep discount sales ~bi-annually. Something like 25%, I believe.
