My suspension bushings are shot and I don't think my fingers is supposed to go through one of them. What suspension kits do most use here? I'm looking for a kit that's close to OEM. I don't think my finger is suppose to go through one

Dobinson has 2 suspension kits, approx 1.5 inches and 2.5 inches.

I have the 60 mm (2.5") on my LJ77 and I like the ride (as well as the lift).

For what it's worth, I spoke to Dobinson's yesterday about a lift for my FZJ75 pickup, and several of the parts were on back-order. Some were out 6-8 weeks, and the rear springs were out 3-4 months. So you may want to check with them first if you're planning on doing it soon.

Dobinson. Have leaves on all four corners of my rigs so not a fair comparison to the sweet Prado coil front. But FWIW my 77 is OME and the 73 is Dobinson IMS. I'd go with Dobinson for both if I had a do-over.

Call CruiserOutfitters. They can help navigate the options and mix-match OME and Dobinson if needed.

Dobinson seems to have a Black Friday sale each year. Think I got 15 or 20% off ordering in late November. Rear shocks were indeed backordered and took about 6 weeks-ish to arrive.

Not sure you want to wait too long sans shock bushes though.

You're just looking for new shocks, not a full lift (suspension) kit, correct?

If you want OEM, just buy OEM

I am Dobinson’s dealer, It’s just not what he asked! :)

OEM shocks should be readily available for his vehicle (I will guess KZJ78, and probably based in Okinawa based on his Japan location). It just doesn’t really make sense for someone in Japan to buy OEM parts from an American. :)

True … I was not paying attention to the location. My JDM has 4x4 Engineering springs. That would be an option for someone from Japan.

Our KZJ78 has the shortest Dobinson lift on it, plus all new bushings. A reminder that age is just as much as factor as KM now on the truck. It made a noticeable difference. We did just shocks first, but would have done the whole thing as one go if we knew we were gonna be in back in there in almost no time.

Also not a bad time to replace the soft brake lines as well.

I went dobinsons too bit cheaper than oem. Pretty happy. Your shocks at the very least need changing for sure. I shudder to think what the rest of your rubber is like!
I think on old cars you need to go through it all eventually. If finances are tight , bit by bit. If not, go for love all the way!

If you don't mind, do you have a level ground profile pic? Curious to know what is the height from the ground to the bottom center of wheel well and what size tires? TIA.
