This leak on the sunrooks has driving me crazy.
Here are some of my findings  , the drains on the back side are OK, I can see the tubes where they come out, they are quite large, I put a glass of water on both sides on the back I can see the water coming all out.

The front is a different story, as soon as I put water in on both sides on the front, the wate starts coming out on the pillars by the handles on the headliner seams. I wonder if the drain tubes are disconnected (I had windshield replaced recently) or cracked.
The question is, how easy is to remove the door frame molding and headliner material (1994 all cloth material headliner) to confirm this without making a big mess. The rubber molding of the windshiled goes over the headliner (IMHO vcery poor design)
Need help here. :D

Thanks,

atijerino,

It is more likely that your front sunroof drains have become clogged with leaves or something. Another possibility is the DS tube can become kinked or pinched behind the left kick panel.

stick something in the drain tube after pouring some water and see if you can tell if the water level is way up there or not.
Futzing around in there with a probe should also tell you if the tube is disconnected from the pan.
The headliner was not under the rubber seal of the windshield in mine.
If you do begin to think about removing the headliner -yikes!- do a bunch of reading first...

I think the headliner is over a grand if you fudge it up. heed E9999's advise.
I just removed mine in the rear to do my light.
A hairdryer will help if you run across glued areas and make sure your in a warm place. I have been told not to mess with the headliner if it is cold.
Hope that helps :flipoff2:

I just came back from my garage cleaning the drain "slits" under the rocker panels on both side, I used the nylon zip method and boy! was there a lot of water deposited in there, of course some of it landed on my face. The PS is very hard to clean because it sites next to the cat heat shield. I hope this took care of my problem.

Thanks for the tips on solving this problem.
