Don’t know if anyone is shopping for a triple locked 80, but this guy is selling his w/ only 168K miles and all records since new.... Price isn’t in the ad, but I PM’d him and he said he ids “asking” $11,000

Could be a good buy. Southern Car through 2017, Baja Rack, 4 inch lift, 32s. Might be able to snag it for under $10K.

For Sale - 1994 FZJ80 3Locked 168k miles (New Hampshire, USA)

Does that MI mud/sand crap ever come off ?????? I washed this thing for the second time and still a ton of it in the drive(that I now get to clean up). I'm certain this is the reason people start drinking before noon.

My condensor and radiator is packed full, I can’t get it clean. I have spent endless time trying to clean it up, what a mess. I thought I had it cleaned out pretty good but it started overheating when it was super hot the other day so I had it towed home. Ih8mud

Anyone want to buy a GX470? ;)

I have video of the events...

Edit: now you do too!
Ready to see that.

@kbahus , you definitely won king of the mud hole. I was feeling like a wus going around most of them. Now I'm not so sorry. It was a perfect time to explain to my newbee sister riding with me what "ih8mud" is all about.

saw that one too........ mining the net every day for an 80. Getting to know Ed at Classic Cruisers. Their 6BTCummins Turbo diesel transplants w/ NV4500 5-speed trannys are pretty slick.

Ed shipped the new/old fluxed/decked FJ60 head last Friday. Should be here shortly and we can just drop it in.

I wish I knew you were on the hunt. There was a moonglow 97 on CL last month (pittsburg)with Arb front and rear bumpers, slee sliders, ome lift, nice goodyear mtr's, winch, and lots of "povery pack" stuff (nice cloth interior, no roof rack). No lockers but $4200. It needed cleaning up but was way less rusty than most from around here. I had it bought but had to back out for lack of time to go get.

If I see a repeat of that deal I'll let you know.

I love seeing the pictures - it looks like everyone had a great time. Next year I'm going to make this a priority, that and actually finding a vehicle to join in on the fun with!

I have a 2004 100 (not the one I drove for this gathering) that I'm debating it's future.. either building or selling or building and selling... I'd consider swaping for another series.
PM me if you're interested and I'll give you good, the bad and the whole story...

He's down to $8750 now... There isn't much if any rust but the paint looks a bit flaked and the roof looks a bit sun-worn. Still a nice looking 80.

Man, I should have worked a deal for my triple locked 80, 164k miles, from Texas...

Just sold it. If the deal falls through, I'll shoot you a PM.

That's a beautiful LC... where did you post it?

There’s a nice Pig and an 80 on FB in the Land Cruiser Forum...

Greg DeSoto

That’s really odd... I pasted the link and it just come out as the poster’s name... the link does work to the 80 in Florida.

That’s why I love the 100... plenty of power until you get used to the 5.7 in your wife’s Sequoia...

Got the head back from Ed at Classic Cruisers. Dropped it in the 60 and presto-chaco - no more white smoke.... it literally looked brans spanking new.

Got some sliders getting delivered to Fastenall in TC - For Sale - CUSTOM ROCK SLIDERS FOR 60 SERIES

From what I could tell, my frame and his frame are identical.

Any thoughts on welding versus bolts/screws to attach??

Nice! No white smoke is a good thing.

I think bolting the sliders in is a good move. You can remove them easily at a later time if needed and you avoid the chance of making brittle spots on the frame around the welds. Less chance of cracking with the bolt on imo. That said, the sliders on my kids 80 are partially welded on because they are such pos sliders the bolts weren't even close.
