picked up a 2f yesterday in dallas from 40's rock, really nice guy and has a sweet cruiser and TONS of parts for one of his builds.

anyways, so while i have the motor just sitting waiting on some parts to get here that i have ordered, what are some parts i should replace that would be worth it to do now rather than have to pull the engine or tranny later to fix.

perry told me when i was getting the engine it would be a good idea to replace the rear main seal (think thats what he said) since its a cheap part and can cause some serious headaches later down the road if it leaks.

gotta check the funds, but should be getting headers but don't have a clue on what kind. are the 2 piece from SOR and Man-a-Fre better than the one piece headers? will all of them work with a saginaw steering set up? also will probly go ahead and install a twin stick set up while the everything is out and easy to work on.

as of now my plan is for a beige cruiser, so what colors should i paint the motor?

i am thinking i am going to paint the valve cover and block a silver and then head black. i think it will look clean but simple.

is there a pro/con with going with a 1 piece over a 2 piece? and does anyone make a header that doesn't drop as low so it will be as high as possible from the ground

v. cover paint

One of the guys on here suggested this paint, i picked some up at NAPA and it works great for the v. cover color. Don't let the silver colored lid fool you it looks much different than that .. Good Luck:) Also if you run a search there are lots of pics in here with different types of color combos to check out
