Great story and pics Alvaro!

Thanks for sharing!

Dan

P.S. I was NOT 5-years old then ;) .

very nicely written!

I bet the memories are special.

(But never mind the getting stuck, we want to know about the gals....:D )

Where's the Cruiser now?

I read that the other night Alvaro. It's a good write-up. Guess I am an old Guy. I was out of college working at Martin Marrietta at the time as an Engineer.

At that time I had been slingin' parts for 6 years.............:flipoff2:

Awesome writeup, Id love to do some wheelin in South America.

What are tannis?

Thanks for the comments

The cruiser on the pictures was Freddy's. Less than a year after this trip, he sold it and got a nice 1983 FJ60. It was about the same time when I got my first FJ40. It was a factory gray 1984 with factory AC, power steering, and nice green light on the dash that would tell you that you were in 4WD. One night while studying at a friends house, it got stolen. Stolen from his driveway.
Later I got a blue 1982 40.

Tannin is what makes wine red. It's a dark substance present in barks, leaves and fruits. Industrially it's used to make inks. When leaves and woods containing tannins decompose in water, they give the water a deep dark color.

Regards

Alvaro
