I have always pointed the cones outward. ;)

My stocking level on the studs is 24 :P

Warthog has a whole bag full of them

Do they make an SST for perfectly aligning those cone washers? I'm removing and re-aligning mine this weekend and I want to be sure it's done right.

Bring it over ;)

Don't forget the  :flipoff2:

Cdan,

Bring it up this summer and I'll show you some NW fishing. Then I'll show you how much gas a fuelie 454 can burn with a run up the highest navigable waterway in North America. Heck, if you come up this summer with the cone alignment SST you'll have visited us one more time than the guy on this list who calls himself ScottM. Oops, family dig :D

Any thoughts on using locktight on the studs?

I was helping TopGear (Mark) with his loose front wheel bearing today and one of the front flange studs snapped off (and another was getting stripped). Luckly my parts bin had a few extra studs.

We put a little locktight on the inner part of the stud that mates to the flange. Any harm in that?

I would not think it would cause any harm, if they ever need to be removed may be more difficult depending on witch lock-tight you used, for that small stud the low strength would be best, high strength or permanent would be a bad idea, you would have to heat the hub to cherry hot to get them out, witch may damage the hub

Did not use any on mine, nut tension seams to keep them in place just fine

We just used the Blue medium stuff. I should have read this first but always consulting with the puter is a hassle in the shop. It's probably a good idea to allow these studs to be removed easily given how many guys need to replace them, oh well.

medium should be fine
