1st i'd try welding another nut on, a big on so you can weld inside and outside. if you don't have a welder try a pipe wrench

As the diff warms up, it will leak.

You need to pull the plug and address the issue.

Buy a new plug and gasket.
Get a tap that matches the threads.
Use a screwdriver or chisel to pry down between the drain plug and housing while unscrewing it with a wrench to force the plug out.

Otherwise you may have to drill out the plug from underneath.

Odds are it stripped all the threads off the plugs and the other end cannot thread through the hole because there's nothing there to force it to.

Good luck.

Pretty sure the thread size and pitch is M18 x 1.50

So when you get the old plug out....hopefully there are enough threads left in the diff housing to repair the threads with a tap or thread chaser.

IF you have a spark plug chaser....most of those already have a M18 x 1.5 on one end (M14 x 1.25 on the other).
