However, I don't know what part this spring is. I would appreciate it if you could let me know.

Looks more like the spring for the transfer case ball detent. 3 6mm washers from the hardware store installed behind it will add more preload. Alternatively, you can get higher rate springs from Toyota or Marlin.

This is the number of the reinforced spring by Toyota's TSB. Looking at the photo of this spring, it appears to be stiffer, but the length does not seem to have changed.

I drove 190,000 miles on my H55F. It doesn’t need any “strengthening”

I’m sure there are people who have driven more than that in a H55F. I wouldn’t consider this to be a weak gearbox.

My English was wrong. Japanese people are not good at English. I don't want to strengthen it, I just want it to be better. H55f is the strongest, so I disassembled mine to change from h41 to H55f. I plan to incorporate modified and better parts used by Toyota and Terrain Tamer. So I would like to know what part this spring is. It may be the transfer spring, or the transmission spring.
maybe.

I think it's the transfer detent ball springs (there are two). But it may also be the fifth gear detent ball spring.

Some early H55Fs had a habit of jumping out of fifth gear when they had high mileage.

Thank you. I will replace the spring you suggested. The part number had not been updated and was 90501-10067.

This has me curious what the cutoff was between the older and current units. Mine I'm sure is just fine as going into and out of 5th is firm and positive, and it holds with zero problem. I wonder if the spring used was called out in a TSB, or if the part itself was just superseded at whatever point.

It would appear that any springs in the transmission are related to shifter fork movement. I've used 3 different
H55's on trucks now. Perhaps this stronger compression spring helps keep shifting movement just a bit more
positive and reflexive. I find they shift up really nicely, but can be a bit cranky downshifting. I on occasion will
double clutch downshifting just to give it a bit more time to catch up, but that's just me.
But compared to anything else out there, especially the manuals on the diesels from the big three, it's like
silk.
