Side I would not do... standing upright on the back door with wood under I would do

Or store like its on the truck. Wood on the ground and stone from the wood to the metal of the top (posts and rear)

I put mine right side up on the garage floor with the front end facing the front of truck, and drive the front of the 40 (somewhat) into the roof opening. Helps make this work in a short garage.

Why not just separate the sides from the fiberglass top and stand all of them against a wall?

Well I am inclined to say "because I just built a sled to store it on" but yeah maybe.

Got it off. We grabbed a neighbor because we didn't feel super great the first time we picked it up. We were in an alley and kind of at an angle so too many things could have gone wrong. I will take a picture but I built a little pallet with 2x8's and then put a packing blanket on the sides for padding. It wedged in secure and feels good.
Can I ask a dumb question? When I went to drive off nothing was holding the windshield in place. I flipped it down (which was fun since I have never done it) and drove to ACE and got the bolts that go through the dash but it still doesn't feel super secure. Are those two bolts all that should hold it in?

yep, those 2 bolts hold the windshield frame in place.
