No I didn't bolt it down, but it has crossed my mind. A friend of mine told me there are some threaded holes in the bed so at some point I'll see if I can find them and bolt it down that way.

How much extra weight has that added? Did you notice it when its full?

A fellow I know was a geologist and while he tied down all his tools and gear in the rock-knocking Jeep he didn't bother with the rocks. He would have been ok when he rolled it, strapped in securely to aftermarket seats but he was bludgeoned to death by the rocks banging around.

Bolt it down, one way or another. Even a bunch of D-rings and bungees would do it.

Looking good! You was able to do a lower sleeping plattform than mine - so you have more comfort there :)

Do you carry a fridge? When yes - how and where?

What kind of matress you have planned?

You can look @ my setup too in my blog

I was debating the type of mattress I was gonna go with and then I came across these at a yard sale..5 bucks, couldn't pass it up. Didn't want to go with a full air mattress cause I'd be eating the ceiling. These are about 3 inches thick so should work out great.

It does add a lil weight, probably 100lbs or less, I can take the drawer out and pick up the frame with out any trouble... I'm thinkin about putting an add a leaf in to help, especially since I bought a bumper with a tire carrier on it today.

Guess I'm gonna have to bolt it down...gotta do some research on that and see what kinda options I have

Mine is in the process of being bolted down, plan on tacking some nuts under the truck to bolt through the top. Just for when removal is necessary.

Add a leaf is a poor option, I've lived with them on two trucks, your better off saving up for an OME heavy spring set

You might want to look at Pressnuts, drill a hole, insert nut, insert tool, flare the nut and your done. Much easier than trying to weld a nut to thin sheet metal.

Actually have a nutsert tool, wanted to go a little bigger bolt to hold it all in.

This looks amazing! Seriously some good work. I've got a sleeping platform built for my 100, but I'm looking to do a similar drawer setup as yours. Hoping I can make mine look as clean!

Here is my storage platform and how I secured it. Just some cheap turn buckles from Ace Hardware, but the hold it securely.

And just a couple more piof the rig. I didn't want to make it too tall because the dogs ride back there and didn't want them to launch off it.

made a draw and fridge slide for the back of my hj61 and slide the draw and fridge on teflon strips that they line boat trailers with. it works really well.

You are making me consider a drawer in my 80. I have been mulling over doing something VERY similar to this without the drawer, but I like the slot you have for the front boards. I was just going to get some shipping containers with lids and build it to match the height of them.
