Too far north. Too far east.
Just received an email that a neighbor had their Tacoma stolen out of their garage last night. The owner swears the door was closed. They do leave the keys in their cars while in the garage. He came out this morning and found the door up and the truck gone.

That truck is in Mexico by now.

Think it's time to install that IP camera sitting in your drawer?

I feel sorry for the guy, but I think that leaving the keys in the car, even in the garage is a Forest Gump move. That being said, hopefully they recover it. I had a friend who had his chevy truck stolen, and it ended up being found a week later in town with relatively little damage.

Well, just in case ...

It's a red Tacoma, four door. The most notable feature is a yellow St. Pius "X" on the rear window.

They needed for a Costco run apparently :D

Truck was recovered yesterday with a dint in one door.

Great news! Sorry about the dint, but that's pretty minor in the scheme of things. Maybe it's time for a car alarm or some other protective measures. How about a big guard dog that sleeps in the garage at night?!?

Your neighborhood is pretty much known for that isn't it? Maybe the proximity to I-40? A few years ago my '85 4Runner was stolen from the Montgomery and Wyoming area, but it ended up around the block from your house... It was stripped except for the lockers, lift, and All-Pro front bumper (welded on and apparently they couldn't figure that out - they removed all the bolts...

Maybe time for you to move to Santa Fe Pappy - I left the keys in my dodge in my driveway the whole time I owned it and never had a single problem (I wish someone had stolen it - worth far more insured than sold). I've never locked my car here.

Sorry to revive an old thread, but have not been on the HD site for a bit and just can't miss a chance to get Pappy to move to Santa Fe and terrorise all the single women up here.

As I was told, there are no men in Santa Fe, and lots of desperate women.

Try driving it to Espanol and leaving it parked there with the keys in the ignition...I am sure it will be gone in less than 24hrs.

If you're into crunchy, granola types that think patchouli perfume smells good.
