Stolen fj62 1988 -- FOUND!!!!! THX ALL

Hey all.

I have been an avid reader of many insightful and thoughtful posts. I have learned much as new landcruiser owner. Last night I woke to find that my FJ62 had been stolen! Thud. I live in the Bay Area so if you are in the area please keep you eyes open. She is a white FJ62 CA license plate 2HYB265. Thank you in advance and hopefully she will be found.

Thanks.

UPDATE: She was found today. Good shape minus stereo and rack. Thank you all for you comments and appreciate the support of this great community. Proud to be apart of it.

Thanks for your help

She is pretty stock. I recently had Gary at Mudrac put in new OME suspension and tinted the window all around. Stock bumper front and back. She is clean and was on her way... again thank you. picture attached.

We will leave this up in the 60's section. Do put up a thread in chat, too. Here's a bump for you. Good luck. Hope you find it. Cruiser thieves are the lowest of the low.

Thanks Rigger. Sorry I started this in the wrong area. Very much appreciate the support.

I can't see a photo, bump for you. I know there are tons of guys in California with Cruisers, hope they get the crook

The pic was up yesterday, now it is gone. What happened?

Last summer (2009) my '89 FJ62 cruiser was stolen ifrom the drivemay at my house in the wee hours of the morning and like you awoke to the horrible surprise. He used a screw driver in the ignition. After notifying police I got into my'82 FJ60 and cruised the area and was lucky--- saw the thief driving my truck and passed him going the opposite way on a side street. I re-called the cops but lost him during the turn around. Turned out the thief dumped my FJ apperently knowing he had been made. The cops found it a couple of hours later abandoned on a golf course side street. The theif broke the little window on the back door using a shirt and a rock. He stole all of my tools. The motive was the tools not thr FJ. The thief was not caught.

Now I keep the truck parked behind the wood fence.I use a steering wheel lock at all times for my FJ's and Land Rovers.

snake, did you now alarm your truck and put on a ignition disabler and also, put in a tough lockable box to lock your tools? I put on a steering wheel lock, those kind that hook over both ends but still, thief can cut though the steering wheel in no time. About the fence, what does it take to open it up?

Thieves have no conscious. If they cannot be seen, then they will steel. I just might create a big thread about thieves and how to slow them down, or prevent your things from getting stolen.

I hope you find your Cruiser. My 40 was stolen in broad daylight and nobody saw a thing!!! Never recovered. I hate a theif...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll keep my eyes open for the cruiser or a really good deal on a white cruiser from some shady character.

I am in So Cal but will keep an eye out. I am always spotting wagons so if I see a white 62 I will extra alert.
