I just put some new tires on my 1997 Lexus LX450 and want to refresh the looks of the stock wheels. I love the classic looks of the stock wheels.
I got some quotes from the local wheel shops for refreshing the wheels using CNC and then clear coating for $175 to $250 a wheel.
Did any of you guys done refurbing stock wheels with CNC & how it came out? Any pictures to share?
Picture attached is current state which is not bad but definitely need some refresh.
Appreciate your help guys!

Those are 8 or 9 out of 10 if that is the worst one you need to do nothing but wheel it

I’d save my money those look great. I’m not sure what CNC is for wheels but had mine blasted and powder coated for $500 for 5 wheels. The few scuffs and scratches in the pic will probably come out with metal polish and a buffer.

Thanks bud. Yeah, I'll just polish it myself. CNC or lathe machines are used on machined wheels to smooth out scratches and clear coat. They are like routers.

I had a couple dozen wheels media blasted and powder coated last year. Wound up costing about $50 a piece for very high quality work. All of them were an order of magnitude worse than what you have pictured. Afterwards you could not tell that there had ever been any deterioration of the surfaces at all. Front, back or inside. This place has been doing it for decades and understands how harsh the conditions here are on powder coat and their stuff is in a different class than any of the stuff you will ever get on factory new pieces of gear. I had some done in black (customer wanted it that way) and some done to look original. It was not an exact match to the OEM color, but it was so damn close few can notice if I do not point it out.

Mark...

Before refinishing try some super clean wheel cleaner (purple container). I've used it a bunch of times and it definitely helped brighten things up.
