Project still going.
Welding first ring on this evening. A friend is helping me cause I wanted the first set to be welded all pretty.
I had to be sure to tack the ring on so the studs would be to each side of the valve stem. Once tacked, off he went.

Made a tool to pop the hub cap because the ring will make it tough to get in there.

Hope this pic works.

Just need to figure out the powder coat color that matches the stock grey next.

Hope this looks as cool as I think it will. Surely could buy beadlocks for less but not with the old stylish caps...

Be back with more later.

Nice.

I've seen valve stems relocated on beadlocks to make them more accessible and move them away from bolts.

Tell your buddy to send me his welding bench when he's done with your wheels!

I have bench envy

I looked at filling hola and relocating them. But found valve stems that are angled and also short.

Will see if I can find something that works.

I know you have already gone the DIY route, but for others, may I suggest simply using an inner beadlock system like Staun II Dual Internal Pneumatic Beadlock by Coyote Enterprises ... or Inner Air Lock Internal Beadlocks - $129.95 w/ Free Shipping!

I have used Stauns in my Truggy for 10 years and have never had any problems. Unlike traditional one-sided beadlocks, they hold both inner and outer beads, let you run at very low pressure without burping, and don't significantly change the balance of the rim. You do need to drill an additional hole in the rim for the second valve stem, and they are a bit of a pain to change tires.

I am aware of that option but it’s not the look and concept I was obsessing over. Oem wheels and caps are cool but thought the exposed ring would be an added cool factor.

Just wanted something different and quite honestly wanted a project.

Thanks for the heads up as others might want to go that route cause it’s easier and cheaper.

My project isn’t for everyone.

Not sure what an anti coning ring is.

Wheels are all welded up. I am out of town til next week. When I get back I will post up a few pics. Then getting powder coated. Then going to figure out how the heck to get the tires mounted up.

I wasn’t planning to add that ring part. Hoping I can take my time and tighten things up right without bending the ring.

If I do add it, how do you know how high to make it and still allow for the tire to get the right pinch amount?

Will now do some homework on the additional ring.

Four rims are welded up.
