With the proper mods to accomplish maximum articulation from the factory leaf pack, what are they capable of (the leafs)? I'm planning on doing some hoops and Bilsteins up front.
I disconnected the shocks that came on it the other day and it flexed no further than before. How much does the anti-sway prohibit movement on a factory pack?

Tell me some tricks to get these springs to move. Some flex shots would be nice too.

This is the best the ole 60 could muster

Looks about the same as my setup. I did a set of 2.5 shackles, a rear lunchbox, and now have a set of 33x12.5 Swampers. If I could get this think to flex I think it would be fairly entertaining.

on the new shackles did you use poly bushings or rubber bushings?m the picture I posted is bone stock with 31x10.50R15's

That front droop still beats a 100 series.

Mine made it the same distance up the RTI rock as a stock 80 series and this four runner.

add-a-leaf lift at this point... the DS tire is rubbing the fenderwell and the passenger side would lift off of the ground when someone stood on the DS rear... crappy picture though

Cool 4-runner... this picture is from Uwharrie right before kodiak rock. He's got dual cases one with 4.7's so his crawl ended up at 120:1 or something... he didn't even touch the gas through this part

Maybe it was... stock in the front case, 4.7's in the rear case and 4.88's in the axles... it's a cool rig. Just cause I can't do math doesn't mean someone can't enjoy the pictures :flipoff2:

If you want a little more out of your stock springs, open up the clamps that keep the leaves held together. There are some that allow about 2" of droop, and then have a bolt to prevent any further separation of the leaves.

I had a friend with a 40 set up just like mine, except he had opened up the clamps. His flexed like mad compared to mine, which I compared to wheeling a piece of ply-wood. The only set back is the springs will become more fatigued and prone to breaking.

Sway

That looks a little better. I'll nix the sway hookup and the shock's for a flex test and see what that does. The loose clamp sounds like a nice trick to try also.
If you think your 60/62 flexes alot with factory springs, post a pic and fill us in on how to get the most out of this leaf pack.
Thanks in advance to anybody who can help.

Bushings

Will old dry bushing prohibit efficient shackle/spring movement? Mine sucked when I put the shackles on but they're all I have for now. I may have to land some new ones w/greasable pins. Any difference to speak of?
