In the US, "overlanding" is very much more about the efficiency of systems than anything else.
While interesting and likely complex they are not "overlanding" in the strictest terms, as "overlanding" isn't really possible in the lower 48.
Just not enough free space ime.

Since humans came up with language, it has been steadily evolving as people come up with new terms that either overlap, or mean some distinct subset of another thing. For some reason, that process really seems to wind some folks up.
