The game is afoot yet again. I have applied for a supervisor position in Johnson City. Will find out in September.

Beno and Ben and I are planning to meet at Mellow Mushroom in Rome on Friday night for some beers if anyone feels like making the drive.

how long of a drive is that from Chattanooga?

probably an hour or so. I clocked it at about 3.5 from the farm... Not sure I can make that turn, but I will send @beno some monies via paypal for a round on me.

Stay safe.

Yeah. It is a bit more than an hour depending on traffic. Just thought I would throw out the shingle. Gonna try to meet around 6:30 if anyone is so inclined.

Picked up a 2008 GX470 in Florida last weekend. Really nice and loaded.

@Elbert cross posting an answer over here.

I/ we are joining the 40 owners club this weekend. Plan to make a run to MS this weekend to pick up a 40 from one of the Cottonland guys. Codename: Pvt Pile.

1970 FJ40. Of all the people who need another project, I'm not one, but for the price I couldn't get close.

Here is what it looked like a couple years ago.

Hence the name "Pile"

I just look at it as it is already disassembled and ready for cleaning and reassembly. No plan now other than get it home and inventories.

I'm pretty sure it's all there, just have to put it all back together, and add disc brakes...

Already put in a call to have the frame blasted and painted too.

Good Luck
I've been down that road. Not fun.

Wait, you mean you're not coming to help? :p

But for reals, I know I can get the rolling chassis and drivetrain together and get the body bolted back together, but the electrics and small stuff is what I know will eat me up.

@jynx you need an intervention my friend, we all like you, you have several very nice rigs. FINISH ON JUST ONE SO You CAN WHEEL WITH US. Honestly proud for you man, can't wait to see what you do with this one.

@jason in tn don't disagree in the least. This one won't be by any stretch at the top of the list, but I couldn't pass it up. It will be going into storage and be tinkered on when I take a notion.

The brown 80 still needs the transmission swapped and I still have all the other stuff on the burner, but if I can end up with a nice 40 on the other side then I'm ok. Besides, the house is finished so I needed something to fill that open slot.

Also @TeddyBoy stopped in at Stevarino's and had a slice for lunch.

If Ida had more notice I would have checked to see if the prez was available. Maybe next time Andy.

The Sami does not fit in anymore. I guess I should come and get it out of there.

I was just thinking a Zuk buggy would be damned cool a little while ago. It'd be light weight, have Toyota running gear and go anywhere. Kinda like Clutchee's so put me 2nd in line behind Rock.

damn that looks good, wife is pi$$ed at me tonight so no dinner here.

Why erbody gotta be trying to relocate the sami? It is the only vehicle in the stable that starts every time I go out and try it...
I actually got shock mounts to install when I get the welder wired up. I had though about pulling the sami into the garage one Saturday and have a little Miller-time with it. I got 2 months of football games to make sure I'm up and going on Saturdays (who knew they had pee wee cheerleading to go with pee wee football... Turns out they do), so I am gonna need some half day projects to keep me sane.

Good thing I got axles to rebuild, shock mounts to install, suspension work, drivetrains to swap, a barn to wire and insulate, and among all the other things a 40 to put back together. I am just a glutton for punishment, but I smile most of the time when I'm taking the punishment.:)
