Notice of the STLCA annual meeting and election of officers to be held at Gray Rock OHV Park in AL on Friday October 17, 2008 at 7:30 PM at my campsite. The meeting is being held at the Southern Cruiser Crawl hosted by the Cottonland Cruisers. You may attend the meeting without registering but may not camp or trail ride. For event registration info please go to: http://www.cottonlandcruisers.com/ (this is a great event and you all should try to attend).

Officers up for election are President and Secretary/Webmaster. You may nominate at the meeting, by e-mail or by posting on the Annual meeting thread at: TN- STLCA - IH8MUD™ Forums. Nominees should be able to attend meetings in Nashville or Chattanooga. To vote you must be present at the meeting.

Roger Theurer
President

STLCA Officers,
Thanks for your service and dedication this year in making the STLCA a success (& probably numerous prior years too for most of you). An obvious starting question, would you want to be nominated for an additional term or for a different position?

If there are no other serious candidates for President I would consider another term to keep the club going. The real issue is we need a Webmaster to get control of our web site and fix it.

Nomination of Roger for STLCA President

All,
I nominate Roger for the STLCA President. Is a second needed to put Roger on the ballot?

Thanks

I second that motion

<Out oF DEEP LURK MODE>

I second the motion to nominate Roger as President, although I guess I technically can't because my membership has lapsed (for about 2 years). I do plan to renew as I finally have my FJ40 back road worthy with a new input shaft in the SM420 machined to use an oil seal and a new clutch to boot. I even took it to MARTA today and it passed with flying colors.

I am planning to make it to the Southern Cruiser Crawl and the annual meeting in October as well.

Good to be back,

Briggs Evans

Briggs,
Good to hear about your truck progress. I am trying to recall if the last time we spoke was at GSMTR when your drove a car to Crawfords or if it was at the fall meeting while still at McNabb. My bad memory aside, good to hear from you and you will have a great time catching up with everyone at the Crawl. Melissa's soccer schedule for October has not available yet, but I am expecting she will have games that weekend like she has for the last few years which nixs my attending the fall meeting & trail rides.

It must have been GSMTR 2006 at crawfords because that was the last time I made it to an event. It was also the last time I really drove my 40 except for around the neighborhood. I has been great to be wrenching on it again. I was hoping to make it to the next monthly meeting in Chattanooga but we are leaving for the beach at 3am friday morining (the joy of traveling with a 3 year old).

Briggs,
Those are great times that fly by too fast. It seems like we were just in that mode, but I drop off two at UGA on Thursday which only leaves #3 at home. Also it is probably about time you got the truck running; Melissa's first trip to Tellico was at 19 months and at 2 1/2 was her first trip for a full week of trail riding. Those were fun trips and luckily they are not over yet. You have a lot to enjoy and look forward too. Enjoy

So how did the meeting and election go? Who are our lucky winners for 2009? Also, any chance some of you that were able to make it will post up pictures and trail stories about what I missed? (please)

I will continue on as president, Howard Williams of Montgomery is the new secretary, and has all ready started work to straighen out the website. We got to watch them blow up the side of a mountain at the coal mine, will post pics later. The damages- I twisted a drive shaft, Clutchee broke a birfield, Todd M layed his 80 on the side and Todd S lost the trans in his tow rig. It was a great ride.

Any idea when you are heading back through to pick up the Ford and your trailer?
