Does any one know what this part does. I know it has 12v going to it when the ignition is on. It is attached behind the stock sub in the rear quarter panel and two of the wires feed the sub. I have seen nothing in searching threads on the wiring coming into it.

I am trying to find a wire that I can use to switch on an aftermarket amp from the stock head unit. Does anyone know which wire at the head unit I could use or if I could use one leading into this part.

Thanks.

That is the amp for the factory sub.

You forgot to mention the very underpowered factory sub.

But I probably shouldn't correct you or you'll use your voodoo to cause my headgasket to blow and my engine to turn into a puddle of molten metal and spark plugs. :D

That's prolly a sound choice........

Red/black is the switch wire.
Gray - 12+
White/black - ground
The rest are for speakers

Go down to bottom of the page for Auto Repair Reference Center. Choose year and your model. You will see the wiring diagram.
This is how I figured out the wiring when I added my aftermarket amp and used all the existing wiring from the factory amp. Good luck!

Anyone got a working username and password for this site these days?

Just FYI: the gray wire out of the OEM sub amp is the signal for a keyed ignition source.

(just installed a basslink)
